I am wondering why my ebay fees are so high ? It says on my account i owe $11.77 ? wondering why

I went on my account and just wondering if i got my money from the customer in the states but it says i owe  $11.77 ? just wondering why my ebay fees are so high or is it that i have that in my account ??

While your first 50 listings are free, there is a charge for the Buy It Now option.

When you sell there is a Final Value Fee of 9% or more on the winning bid.

When you ship there is a Fee on the shipping cost*.

If you plan to pay 20% of your customer's payment to eBay and Paypal in fees, you won't be too far wrong.

Also, although you are expected to ship within 7 days of your customer's cleared payment, and most sellers try to ship within 24 hours, Paypal Holds payments to new sellers for 21 days against their good performance.

This is not personal, it's a Buyer Protection policy.

You can however, access the Held payment to cover the cost of a Paypal shipping label before the 21 days. And, small bonus, on many services, Paypal gives a 5% to 18% discount off PO counter prices for shipping.

* Unless you give Free Domestic Shipping, which is complicated to explain here.
