I left positive feedback for a seller too soon. I usually wait until the deal is complete but of course the one time I didn't, the seller turned out to be rather shady. I see all kinds of ways to amend feedback but not what I want to do. I want to change my feedback on this seller from positive and the text included to either neutral or negative. How do I do this? Thanks.

You can Contact customer service. Bring a book and a beverage. Pee first. Then ask if it can be removed.
Or you could leave a Response. Like the most effective feedback, the most effective Responses are calm and factual.
However, you should still be covered by eBay or Paypal's Buyer Protection Policy against non-delivery or badly described items. Have you looked into a Dispute?
Note that if you win a Dispute, your feedback will be removed.

I didn't ask how to resolve a dispute. I asked how to change feedback.

The answer is 'no'. Feedback is permanent but you can open a Dispute if your item was a 'piece of carp' either via the Resolution Centre on ebay within 30 days or paypal within 180 days. Other than that, your only recourse is to Follow Up to Feedback Left.

Thank you.

You're welcome.
The only exception to the rule is the opposite scenario: if you've left neutral or negative feedback for your seller but have a change of heart. That is a Feedback Revision that ebay will facilitate. Otherwise, a positive feedback left is like immortalized in cement. No one can change it.
The seller who left the answer previous to mine, however, was making a valid point around the automatic feedback adjustment that accompanies ebay Resolution Centre cases. Those too mostly work in favour of the seller, not buyer. As in a negative or neutral might be removed if the buyer loses the case against the seller.

Finally, there are instances where a seller can apply for a buyer's negative or neutral feedback be removed and that is in a case of something like extortion where the seller can prove via ebay Messages that the buyer was trying to strong-arm them into something outlawed on ebay.
The last instance that comes to mind is if a buyer leaves positive feedback in green but words like, 'Stuipd @#$ can kiss me %^%$.!!' That disappears pretty quickly. But ebay might leave the 'positive' and remove only the text.

I hope you realise just how far up yourself this sounds as a response to an effort to help you?

Ouch:, That's harsh. I've wanted to comment on your comment several times and keep coming back to it.
stamps took her time to give a very professional and informative response to your issue.
She was right on and you should have thanked her rather than chastising her.
