Does it mean that that some one bought it at the buy it now price? Will the seller offer me a second chance offer? Not really sure how this works?

Were you the high bidder when the auction ended?  Did it go to full term or did it end sooner than you anticipated?

If it had a hidden reserve with a buy-it-now price, it is possible someone bought it at the b-i-n.  When you click on the bid history for the listing, what does it show?

A seller can offer an item to a bidder in the event that the reserve price is not met.  Have a look at the following link if you wish to see about reserves:

yes I was the highest bidder at the end of the auction. It did not end earlier.

when I look at bidding history it shows all the bids and clearly states I am the highest bidder, but did not meet reserv price. Then across the itm it says Sold.

Does this make any sense??

Would you be willing to post the item number to that?  Just the item number.

If it says "sold" somewhere, it must indicate to whom, as in some other bidder.  If it is not you (obviously) then you should see someone else's partial ID, like x***y, as the buyer/winner.

So when you click on the listing for an ended auction where the reserve is not met, it will say in bright blue letters, Reserve not met.  Clicking the bid history shows a list of bidders and bids, but again, in red beside the listing picture is Reserve not met.

Unless someone sniped it successfully at the last second.

What was that item number? 🙂

Have you checked your Purchase History?  It's not in there by any chance, is it? 😄

Aah, okay, thanks for the number.  The listing looks exactly like it is supposed to on my end.  Blue Reserve not met on listiing page, and again in red on bid history page.  Listing is ended, but I don't see that word "sold" anywhere.  Where exactly do you see it?

I see no indication that the item sold. It is in completed items as unsold.

My first thought was perhaps seller had bypassed you and second chanced the second highest bidder because you are new.

Drop seller a note to inquire if he will be relisting.
