funny you mention that judy, i'm kind of noticing the same thing-slow payers-it will usually take me 3 weeks before filing a dispute for non payment-if no contact after 2 weeks, i email, if no contact still, i'll open a dispute maybe 3 weeks later or a little more. i have a newbie right now (brand new) who purchased something about a week and a half ago-wrote me right after winning stating she wasn't sure paypal was safe, and wanted another method of paying-i said sure-send a money order, please let me know if you'd like this option, and let me know when you will be sending it out so i can add it to my records. haven't heard from her since despite another email after that. i'm going to file an npd soon.
here's the kicker though...on another item...i had someone buy a painting from me early june. two weeks go by-no payment-so i email asking if they still want the item. no reply until 5 days later, finally pays. he pays the TUBED shipping charge (9.50) and asks me to stretch it (29.95)-all outlined in the invoice. i email him explaining the difference in price, and which service he wants-if its stretched, he'll have to pay another 20.00, let me know so i can send a new invoice...a week goes by...nothing...so i email him again stating i have one week to ship an item after payment is received to be protected under paypal, and that since he paid for tubed, that's how i'm sending it. that was about a week and a half ago. surprise, surprise...last night i get an email:
where's the painting??? you're a little late in delivering this item???
exact email, exact words. my god!! I'M late???? i emailed him back outlining all the last month's events, and that i thought he was BOLD asking where his painting was, and accusing me of being late. he replied back apologizing saying HE WASN'T AWARE OF THE EMAILS. whatever. give me a break. he was still bidding/paying and leaving feedback on ebay while i was sending those emails. some people!! slow to pay, quick to complain...X-(
