Is there a way to have feedback reversed if I issued a full refund as per buyers request?

I sold an item a few days ago and the buyer was from chile.  In my auction listing I stated that all international buyers (Outside USA and Canada) must contact me prior to bidding for a shipping quote.  He bid/won the auction without contacting me and they paid for the item with an addition $20 for shipping which was the flat rate for the US and Canada.  I contacted him right away and explained that shipping to his country would be more expensive and I provided him with accurate quotes.  He said he would not pay and he wanted a refund.  I ended up refunding his money in full and opening a case to cancel the transaction.  He has still not responded to the case and in addition has left me negative feedback.

When I contacted ebay they said they can't reverse it or do anything about it and all I can do is try to get the buyer to revise it.  I have tried contacted the buyer and he said he left the feedback because he thinks I tried to charge him extra money for shipping.  I have explained everything to him and even offered to provide the shipping quotes but he has not responded.

Is there anything I can do to get this removed?  I have had a perfect feedback record until now and it is extremely frusterating that this can happen and ebay doesn't care.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm afraid that eBay won't change the feedback. When the buyer said he wouldn't pay the cost of shipping to his country, you should have opened an unpaid item dispute instead of sending him a mutual cancelation request. That way,if the buyer still refused to pay,you could have closed the dispute after 4 days and given the buyer an unpaid item strike. He would also have been prevented from leaving feedback for the transaction.

There are very few situations in which a seller should send a transaction cancellation request and a buyer refusing to pay is not one of those situations.

Transactions cancellations are for when you are at fault. If you did not describe an item properly AND the buyer paid and you refunded their money, then a transaction cancellation would be needed. Or if the item were shipped and arrived broken and you had to refund once the item was returned, then a transaction cancellation would be needed.

Never cancel a transaction for deadbeats.

Add the non payer to your blocked bidders list and set your buyer requirements to block bidders with 2 or more unpaid item strikes in the past 12 months.

Non paying buyers deserve unpaid item strikes.
