Were you logged into another ebay site when they were added? (This may affect it although I am not 100 per cent certain of that.) There is ebay.ca and ebay.com and ebay.com.au (Australia) which all show a dollar symbol despite having different dollar currencies and maybe you didn't notice which site you were at?
The other possibility is that the items all sold while you were gone, although that is usually shown with a red-type error message when you log back into ebay the next time.
It might also just be one of those strange glitches that occurs on ebay form time to time. Perhaps your saved items will return when you log in the next time.
