Lame e-bay promotion

I finding latest promotion is a quite used car saleman type. You have free listing, but ... ops you need to buy something here... and by the way there some pricing limitation too. I wonder who making up those things? Dilbert in action.

Does anybody find this promotion benefitial? If, yes, share your opinion; I may miss someting...

The Hairstylist: Free Hair cut, 2nd hair full price.

The Dentist: Free Fillings, Freezing Meds $2,000.00

The Doctor: Free Amputations, Cauterization $5000.00

The Stripper: Free Pole Dance, Poles $50.00

The Butcher: Free Steak, Butcher Paper $9.00/ sheet

The Egg Farmer: Free Eggs, when you buy the shells.

Ebay: FREE!! Listings, + $0.35 + reserve price fee

Once again Ebay shows disdain for the intelligence of those who pay their bills and line their pockets.

It will save me about $50-60 over the next month. That at least is something - better than nothing!

Anybody who uses gallery will see a benefit.

The gallery option makes only a small percentage increase in sales far below what the costs are. Plenty of large sellers will tell you this - given the costs the feature does not pay for itself despite eBay's ridiculous percentage increase claims.

I think these type of promotions are really focused towards the buyers and have no-real advantage nor savings offerings for sellers unless you are selling everything under 9.99 then it makes sense but only a little as you end up saving a nickel or so.

Just not worth the effort of mass listing not to mention the cost.

Hey I'll take it!...And we've done the research, gallery is worth it for us.

It helps me because I use gallery all the time. I couldn't compete without using it. And I start about 75% of my listings below $10. The ones that start higher than that I don't list as often but I will be saving a little bit on each of them as well.

I don't do better with an excessive number of listings so I probably won't list more than the usual number. Sales have picked up again though so I may have to eat my words.

I used it last night. The savings will add up over the month & I will take any savings I can get.

To me it smacks of desperation. Can you say..."Low third quarter results so far." If I had stock in ebay I think I'd be selling right about now.

If you normally use Gallery (I don't) it free gallery plus a nickel or for over $10 items 25% off.

If you don't normally use Gallery (like me) it's free gallery and a nickel (under $10 items).

If it was a one day promo it would be crap but as a month long promo it's fine.

It's end result is somewhat similar to the summer long FVF discount they have been running.

Some people will only stop complaining if there are NO promotions. On second thought they'd be complaining about that as well.

If I had stock in ebay I think I'd be selling right about now.

Still posting that comment eh? Definitely reflects your maturity level. Why not try posting something new, I for one started ignoring EVERYTHING you post months ago, because I felt anyone who continues to repeat himself month after month, has nothing useful to contribute. JMHO

I use gallery in all my auctions so for me it's a benefit for sure. ALOT of my auctions start under 9.99 anyway and I was planning on listing alot more auctions in September now people are out of "summer" mode - so I find for myself this promotion comes at just the right time.

It mostly benefits the sellers who overcharge on s/h and start their bids low. They don't pay listing fees and very little in final value fees because they have made their money from shipping and handling. Only 35 cents for the gallery feature. IMHO it is eBay's way of rewarding them for listing fee avoidance.]:)
