I got some links for the new tracked package rate on this board a couple of weeks ago, but they are coming up with "page not found" now. Does anyone have one I can use?
Canada Post website is SO frustrating!

If logged in I see it available in the obc section, the est shipping page.

Canada Post does web site maintenance every Sat night to Sunday morning so links may not work.
That being said, I do know that some of the earlier links were moved or deleted because I had tried them during the week. I tried some now and am getting a lot of links not found. Too many links not found. So I am not sure if they are really gone or if it is Canada Post maintenance.

Finally found the documents.
http://www.canadapost.ca/tools/pg/prices/default-e.asp
01-27-2013 12:17 PM
The prices for TP in the documents do not make sense at first when compared to the Canada Post online Find a Rate calculator.
The document prices are without fuel surcharge. Here is the prices from the document
http://www.canadapost.ca/tools/pg/prices/SBusa-e-04.pdf
$14.57 $15.18 $17.54
Fuel surcharge is given here
http://www.canadapost.ca/cpo/mc/aboutus/news/fuel/default.jsf
It states that Tracked Packet is Non-Express and the rate is 5.25%
So the fuel surcharge should be $0.76 $0.80 $0.92
Add this to the basic rates above and you get the Venture One discount rates
TP (Venture One 5% discount) $15.33 (0.76) $15.98 (0.80) $18.46 (0.92)
For an accurate rate, use the Canada Post Find a Rate calculator and plug in sample dimensions and the three weight breaks.
For example, here is the USA TP prices from using the calculator
Service 250 grams 500 grams 1 kg - dimensions 30 x 20 x 10 cm
Fuel surcharge is in brackets () - already included in the amount. I included the Fuel surcharge since it will vary each month by a few cents because fuel surcharge is revised each month.
Here are the USA rates from the Canad Post Find a Rate calculator (Small Packet included for comparison)
SP USA Air $7.80 $10.35 $15.56
TP (No Discount) $16.10 (0.80) $16.78 (0.84) $19.45 (0.97)
TP (Venture One 5% discount) $15.33 (0.76) $15.98 (0.80) $18.46 (0.92)

Sorry for the complicated answer.

you can send inside CANADA..for 7.38
you get the insurance and tracking...
the system is presently charging u. if u want it...
however the system will be up and running mid Feb. for the actually tracking
EBAY PLEASE UPDATE the shipping info on syi forms for CANADIANS to CANADIANS...many thanks...

To make it simple, use the TP Venture one rates above and they will be good for the year as long as the fuel surcharge does not vary much from the 5.25% rate. The change is only a few cents each month unless fuel prices go crazy up or down.
TP (Venture One 5% discount) $15.33 (0.76) $15.98 (0.80) $18.46 (0.92)

Where do you see that there is going to be a $7.38 rate for insured/tracked oversize lettermail within Canada?
01-27-2013 04:07 PM
Tracked Packet is a parcel option...
01-27-2013 04:35 PM
Thank you so much pocomocomputing, that is a great help. There seems to be a small difference between 250g and the 500-1g rate. It some cases the TP will be less than expedited I think. It's hard to know what "one fits all" rate to put on my listings.
01-27-2013 05:56 PM
I was at the Post office Thursday..
I sent a coin to Ontario within Ontario...Letterpost 1.29(bubble mailer maybe 100g)..
but ,if I wanted the new ("TRACKED service"..cost 7.38)
but...insurance is there..but their tracking doesn't work yet..lol...
So there are 3 different "Letter Post " OPTIONS available...
01-27-2013 06:19 PM
Lettermail Oversize was $1.29 for 100 grams within Canada. It is now $1.34 since Jan 14, 2014.
Letterpost is the name of "Lettermail" going outside the country and is $2.20 for USA 100 grams and $1.85 for International. Letterpost is supposed to be used for non-goods and "paper" items and Light Packet should be used for goods sold (paper or non-paper).
Tracked Packet is only available outside Canada and is not available within Canada.
So you have to be more clear what this new "Letterpost" option is because your reply in this topic has mix of contradicting Canada Post names and prices. So I would have to say that you are not understanding the changes to Canada Post services and rates that came into effect Jan 14, 2013. Tracked Packet is not available for shipping within Canada.
01-27-2013 06:22 PM
PS Lettermail Oversize within Canada can be goods as well as "paper". It is a small parcel service like "Light Packet".
01-27-2013 07:06 PM
zoomrr69, I think they gave you Regular Parcel rate or perhaps Expedited Parcel rate with Venture One card 5% discount. You mentioned Ontario to Ontario in your post. So it is a short distance if it is really close by.
For example, using a parcel service from/to your own postal code costs around $7-8 before sales tax.
So there is no new service within Canada. Just regular service for a short distance being confused with the new Tracked Packet.

no..read..don't get screw up

3 different letterpost options..

Again, there is no Letterpost within Canada. It is called Lettermail. Lettermail Standard 30 grams is the $0.62 price you mention.
The rate for a small bubble mailer by Lettermail Oversize is $1.34, not $1.29.
There is no Tracked Packet with Canada from everything I read on the Canada Post website or on these forums. Tracked Packet is available only for USA and International.
Go back to the post office and get more details on your $7.38 option. I think you got mixed up with Regular Parcel rate within Ontario for very short distance.

Too many mistakes in your posts again.
There is TRACKED PACKET but not within Canada.
Here is a mistake. It is $1.34 postage for 100 grams bubble mailer within Canada using Lettermail Oversize, and it does not include sales tax.
As I said, you will have to go to the post office and prove that you can get TRACKED PACKET with CANADA. Tracked Packet within Canada does not exist anywhere on the Canada Post Website nor in their changes announced in December 2012 and implemented on Jan 14.
