Had an eBay transaction go off the rails this morning.
I was the successful bidder on item number 130940615125, getting a set of Canadian Football League cards at a very cheap price.
From looking at the listing, you can probably see why this item didn't get the attention it probably deserved.
At any rate, I messaged the buyer well before the auction ended, and we agreed upon $9.99 shipping from Bellingham to Sumas in Washington State (about 15 miles between them).
Once the auction ended, I messaged two or three times asking that the invoice be adjusted to reflect the shipping rate we'd agreed upon.
There was no response until this morning, when I woke up to a request to cancel.
Apparently, the seller's puppy got into his office and chewed up the cards. Cause, you know, that happens...
Anyhow, the seller has promised to send what's salvageable to me at no cost. I hate to be so jaded and skeptical, but I forsee the cards being lost in the mail.
Anyhow, not really mad about it because I'm not out any money and I didn't care too, too much about the cards.
This will be filed in the 'one day I'll look back at this and laugh' bin.
