Not as described, shipped back, refund only for item, but not for shipping back despite listing

I bought two cases for samsung tablets. The listing said it is real leather but it was not. I proved it to the seller by quoting from their own website that those cases are not real leather. ( I can provide the links to both listing and the seller's website )

Seller agreed to refund, as long as I return the two cases. Seller was to pay for return shipping as per ebay listing.

I sent the items back, the seller refunded the original cost of the two items even before receiving them, but refuses to pay back the shipping charges to China ( which are quite high from Canada when tracking number is required).

I am on the hook for the shipping back charges, although there was no falut on my end, as I honestly did my part of bidding, winning and paying right away to a seller who was dishonest.

Any help and advice greatly appreciated !

You will not get the return shipping charges back. Those...

You will not get the return shipping charges back. Those are the responsibility of the unhappy buyer. Some sellers will, for ethical reasons, refund return postage if they agree the error was theirs.

Some.

And it is not mandatory.

The seller was undoubtedly shocked by the high cost of tracked return shipping, which I believe starts at $40. At least you got your original payment back. That's as much as Paypal and/or eBay would refund.

You have 60 days to leave feedback from date of purchase.

You will be asked at the same time to leave Detailed Seller Ratings about your transaction. A normal, nothing special transaction gets Five Stars. The lowest rating is ONE STAR. If a seller's DSRs drop below 4.3, his selling account will be restricted in several ways.
