Re: November 5th 2014 Weekly Board Hour

Good afternoon!

I was under the impression from the Spring Seller Update (please correct me if I have this wrong) that sellers would be given the ability to see a breakdown of DSRs by buyer, i.e. no longer anonymous.  I have been able to generate reports on DSRs by region (global/domestic), but every time I've tried to access the more specific "Seller Performance Report" on DSRs, I get the screen shown below.

Do you know why?  Is this something that is only available to U.S. sellers, but will become available here at some point?  Or has it been abandoned?  Thanks!  (By the way, I've been getting this screen for months, every time I try to access the Seller Performance Report from my dashboard).

One more question, if I may.  Smiley Happy

With all the changes that have been made to the appearance, design and layout of eBay stores, and so many policy changes over the past couple of years, there is still one area that I'm unclear about, and that is the matter of links, or perhaps I should call them "indications to links".

Recently, I've noticed a few of my (U.S.) competitors have their website name either within the text area on their store banner, or in the text area of the "Profile" page.  One seller had her website name in an enormous font spread across the entire banner of her store, basically an invitation to go offline.  These are not live or functional links -- they are "attenuated" in some way (a jpeg image of the dot.com website name, for example, or the font spread out somehow) so that they can't be directly accessed with a click, but they're still obvious and clear. When I see this kind of thing I wonder how I can possibly compete by following what I thought were the rules.

I suspect these sellers know very well that by putting the website names in these areas, they are beyond the reach of the eBay "robots".  Also, since they're not in the listings per se, there doesn't seem to be any way to report them directly (at least not through the automated reporting feature).

Are they "eBay legal" or not?  If not, how can they be reported?

Re: November 5th 2014 Weekly Board Hour

Hi,

Since july, my account is restricted and I cannot sell on eBay. They emailed me that they will re-consider my account on september 29th (I had to responded to the email) but still nothing. What's the average delay for that process?

Hi rose-dee,

I seem to be the only one here today so give me a few more minutes of research.

You are right. It is not allowed to have off eBay websites on store banners. As for how to report it, I'm not entirely sure there is a quick button you can push. I think you could have to contact customer support with a list of the offending stores.

Thanks,

Ryanne

Hi,

I believe that is a bug. Can you please provide me the step by step instructions on how to get to this error page?

Thanks,

Ryanne

Re: November 5th 2014 Weekly Board Hour

I go to my Dashboard, at left is a link called "Detailed Seller Ratings Reports".  Clicked on that, which takes me to another screen.  At the lower left is a link "Seller Performance Report - I click on that and get the error screen shown above.

As I said, this has been happening all along, every time, for months, ever since the feature was first announced.

I just want to be clear that these are not off-eBay websites that are being displayed, but simply the name of the website (not a "live" link).  So, for example, "Bargainsgalore.com" shown in a seller's store banner.

"I think you could have to contact customer support with a list of the offending stores."

This is no doubt precisely what these sellers are relying on.  Who wants to bother sitting on the phone for an hour to speak to someone somewhere in Asia who in all likelihood won't be capable of even grasping the problem, let alone following through?  I give up.

Hi lecoffre-techno,

It looks like the issues that created those selling limits have not been resolved, which is why the limits have been kept in place. Since the details around these limits are confidential and because I want to respect your privacy, please contact me via email if you would like to discuss more.

Hi rose-dee,

Whether or not the link is clickable, if a seller has their own web site URL shown in their store banner, they may be in violation of the Links policy:

http://pages.ebay.ca/help/policies/listing-links.html

Unfortunately there are no easy ways to report a seller's store specifically. However if you want to drop me an email with the name of any sellers you found to break this policy, please do so and I'll get someone to look into it.

Thank you Raphael.  The examples I saw were pretty blatant and unfair to other sellers I would think.

Re: November 5th 2014 Weekly Board Hour

Could you explain the new 100000 Promo. The Link explains That new Store Subscribers get a discount when signing up. Or that the fvf  are lowered. I list low dollar items with turbolister and somehow I used one of the 100000.

Hi @kcgwynne,

I believe the promo takes into account any listing of any dollar amount. If any of your listings were sold at a higher dollar value and if you signed up for the promo, your FVF would be capped at $200. Even if you are listing items at lower prices, each listing is subtracted from the 100,000.

There is also an invitational promo for new Store subscribers.

I hope that helps.

Ryanne
