Quick Books Software

I was wondering if anyone uses business software? Here is my problem. I currently use Quick Books and would like to start using it for my E-Bay business as it grows. Only problem is that everything I buy I pay in Canadian funds and everything I sell is in US Funds. I don't know if Quick Books has an automatic exchange calculator or not. Does anyone know or is there another way to use Quick Books for E-Bay?

Thanks

I am not sure if Quickbooks supports multiple currencies, but Simply Accounting does.

I use Quickbooks and I havent figured out that feature yet either. I would like to update to the newer version so I can download my paypal statements directly to quickbooks instead of entering them manually.

Jeff, I've been looking for an accounting program that actually works in Canada. How does Simply Accounting deal with exchange rates? Does it go online a pick up the current rate or do you input it yourself? I've been hanging back on investing in an accounting programme -- does Simply Accounting look after the sales taxes for you? The GST, HST plus the GST/PST combo? GAWD I hate this stupid GST and it's ramifications!!!!

Glenda, I have been using Simply Accounting since well before it was called Simply Accounting (initially it was Bedford then bought out by Accpac and Computer Associates, etc etc....) So although being extremely familiar with it and its functions, I cannot honestly compare it to anything else.

I think you can go to a site to automatically download the US exchange rates, but I don't I enter them manually from the Royal Bank site.

It handles GST PST quite well (both on sales and input credits) Actually GST is not much of a beast in my opinion, or at least Simply handles it quite well, very easy to report, etc...HST is another monster that I have not fully studied.... I only charge GST on sales to the east coast and when I get audited, I will play dumb (my sales to the east coast are not large).

Runs the G/L quite well, good payables and receivables package, inventory including controls, payroll if required and even project management to a degree.

Thanks Jeff, I guess I'd better give it look-in! I'll find their web-site and see if they have a free trial period ...

Quick Books Pro handles multicurrency, no problem. We use QB for 4 years. You'll need to set exchange rate manually although, for example based on paypal's rate when you withdraw funds to your CND account. Or you set it as Bank of Canada and record your exchange loss or gain.

You can get sw at half price at e-bay.
