I ordered a package from Alton New Hampshire, to be delivered to Hope BC Canada. I ordered this package exactly 7 weeks ago now today.
I have been directed to 4 different shipping couriers, equally as many shipping track numbers. I have a confirmation number from USPS that the item was shipped and arrived in Kentucky.
Ebay tracking states that my package is in Richmond (2 hours away from me) and is in transit to the final destination, as of February 14th.
I contact the apparent holder (Canpar) And they say CanadaPost has it and it was turned over to them. I contact Canada Post, they say they dont have it and require the seller to start an investigation (already did, and I tried as well but cant because I am the reciever...) No updates, no news, no additional information since the 14th of January.
I have a claim started, and will likely be getting a refund, but I really just want what I ordered. Anybody got some advice or information onn this kind of thing?

Hi sharkgun.
First off sorry to hear about this transaction. 7 weeks is an awfully long time ....
The fact that the item was shipped via Kentucky tells me it was likely a Global Shipping Program item (the US Shipping Center for the Program is in Kentucky).
It may become necessary to file an "item not received" case. But first maybe I can do some checking on this end. Please send me a Private Message and include transaction #, item #, + eBay user id and email address used.
Thanks.

Sometimes the best thing is to accept the refund and start again.
When you say you have a claim started, it is an eBay/Paypal claim right? Not with the shipper? (which would be useless)
If you recieve the item after the refund, contact your seller to see if he was dinged for the refund. If so, ethically, you owe him the price of the item and the domestic (US shipping to Kentucky) since he did his part of the transaction correctly.

PM'd Bennett and I did begin the item not recieved case, papypal is currently looking it over. I just find it difficult to understand that I cannot just be told who has it or where it is etc. I would rather have the item I put money out for than have the money back, in most cases.
It was a GSP item, I have been as patient as I can and the seller has been more tahn co operative, I just cannot get hrough to the PB and kentucky center or anything like that or even heard what is going on.

Anyone have any ideas on this kind of thing?

Yes,
File the claim, wait while Paypal processes it-- which basically means they ask the GSP for proof of delivery-- and if they don't get that proof, you get your money back.
If the widget shows up after you have the refund, you should repay the seller, since ethically you cannot keep both the money and the item.

I'm not sure what I would do in that situation but it is unlikely that I would pay the seller as they would then have been paid twice for the item. Since a gsp refund doesn't come out of a seller's pocket, they are not the ones who are entitled to get the money back.

I would contact ebay staff, but regardless it is GSP's faault that i didnt recieve the item initially. 8 weeks now, and tahts a LONG time and still no news.

You don't have to contact 'staff'. The whole process is automated.
Just go up to the Customer Support dropdown at top right and click on Resolution Centre.
