Seller has not claimed payment

Hi purchased an item from a seller using paypal and paypal shows the item is unclaimed. I waited a few days because I thought the seller might be accepting payment manually. I then emailed him and he said the payment seemed ok and that he would send it the next day.
Now that hasn't happened. I am not sure whats wrong, the seller has a 100% feedback. I am going to wait before emailing him again as I understand there are holidays in his country over the next couple of days.
But what do I do? The payment is still not claimed.
I am wondering that some wrong info may have been accidentally entered when he set up the sale posting for the item.

How could you know that?
Is it the seller from France? Russia? or Hong Kong?

I mentioned to him already the payment was not claimed.

There could be made reasons why the PayPal payment has not been claimed, including some that are not within his control.
It is possible the item has been shipped.
Be patient. Give it a few days.

Yes I will wait before emailing to confirm item is sent.
In fact I just noticed it says the payment has been completed at the paypal website even though ebay shows it has not been completed.
Could be some sort of glitch in the system.

That is the site to trust when it comes to payment.
Often the synchronization with eBay is delayed.
