Seller sent an offer - now I can't pay

Hello guys!

I feel silly as I encountered something similar in the past (guess I might have to stop trusting everyone to avoid a headache), but to make a short story, I was interested in a listing, but shipping to Canada wasn't indicated (just that the seller would indeed ship here). I sent the seller a message inquiring about shipping costs and not only did he reply, he also sent me an offer. He gave me a full quote and said shipping was included in the new cost. Great! So I accepted the offer.... and I couldn't pay. I got the following message:

One or more of the items below can't be purchased because the seller has not specified shipping costs to the location selected

No biggie, I sent the seller an invoice. After 48 hours...nothing at all... so I sent him a message asking if it would be possible to please confirm shipping so that I may pay for my item.

Not a single word. Just eBay firing off emails my way reminding me to pay (which I gladly would IF I COULD).

Is there ANYTHING a buyer can do about this? I REALLY want to pay and I don't want an "unpaid" strike on my account. It's not like I'm not trying to contact the seller or anything. Is there a recourse? I have three days to pay --- my time is almost up and nothing from the seller. All of his other items are not longer listed. If he doesn't want to sell anymore, can't he just cancel the transaction? He sent me an offer --- why can't I pay that offer? It's just frustrating.

Thank you for any help.

Think I will no longer buy items without a shipping cost indicated. Thought it wouldn't matter this time since the seller personally sent me an offer. Guess not, ha.

YOU sent the SELLER an invoice?

Normally the seller sends the buyer an invoice because an invoice is a request for payment.

If the seller has given you the price of the item with the shipping included, and you believe she wants to complete the transaction, go to Paypal, open SEND MONEY  and send the amount she needs through that service.

There is a text box to use for the eBay number and the eBay title, so both of you have a record of what you are buying.

And then send her an email telling her that you have paid and the Paypal transaction number.

You are covered by Paypal's Buyer Protection which may differ in a few details from eBay's program but does a good job of covering your.

Err, my bad, I meant an invoice request.

I was unaware of that option - thank you, I believe I will just do that.

Is there a way of marking the item as paid on eBay afterward (so eBay will stop thinking my item is unpaid)? Or do I simply keep a record of everything? Either way, thank you!

edit * I just looked into it --- but unless I'm blind and not seeing an option for eBay, it's asking me for an email. I tried poking around, but I can't find the seller's email.

Couldn't edit my message, but submitted a request for the seller's contact information.

Seems it will let him know I asked for it, so hopefully this will prompt him to contact me. Otherwise, I'll just pay via PayPal.

Thanks again!

edit * Ha, I received his contact information, but the email isn't listed. Back to square one, I guess?

There should be a phone # , Just call them to resolve, If dealing with time zones, be sure to call during business hours in the sellers location. Also if you get voice mail leave  your name, number, the item your calling about and a good time to call you back.
