They can't pay programmers to fix all the issues on Ebay but they can squander money on this?
Great use of resources and manpower - NOT

What will "benefit" any sellers who attend this convention?? It doesn't tell but it is more like "party" than "benefit" for anyone who attend? Waste of $$$ by eBay!

It is called networking. It works great for some sellers but it is not for everyone. If it works for you, go for it, if not, stay home.

Misunderstanding is a wonderful thing. This is a networking gathering as Pierre notes. Presenters are primarily, if not all, outside of eBay. If eBay has any money in this, it is in the hundreds of dollars.
This is primarily self financing by attendees.
Presenters are entrepreneurs who share, rather than preach. They pass on knowledge and empowerment. Every gathering I go to, I learn something. Something that increases my profits and decreases my costs. I learn greater efficiencies of time management.
I will meet successful sellers, some whom I have chatted with on different message boards. Sellers I look up to. I learn from them and make my business better.

I am sure these people pay their own expenses
Join Griff and Lee in Vegas, Babee!
co-starring eBay Experts, eBay Representatives
and any other Ebay staff that attend.
Yea, I am getting a little annoyed at all the Ebay waste and never fixing problems.

Ooh. I loooove cons!
Panels, superstar guests, networking.
Will there be a masquerade? I have two cosplay costumes now! Nanny Ogg and Hands of Blue.
I could start working on a Griff cosplay.
And room parties? The eBayCanada room party -- maybe we could get that beer fridge? Old Dutch cheezies, Jos Louis snack cakes, poutinis (really, don't ask), let's show them Yankees why we won the War of 1812!

Na, it's those double-digit temperatures in February and March -- does weird things to Canadian brains.
I wouldn't mind going to this party but I haven't made enough money this year to be able to afford it. Bah humbug.

That is because you are semi-retired socialite living on an estate in affluent Nova Scotia.

I don't know that I'd call a 2000 square foot house a mansion, but it's a castle to me compared to some places I've lived.
I've never been to Las Vegas. If you go, give us a rundown afterward. I have to admit I was thinking "yeah, last supper" when I saw your post about it. I hope I'm wrong.
Update on the Nova Scotia part: 40+cm of snow predicted for Sunday, blizzard warnings all over The Weather Network. Crikey, we may not even dig ourselves out of here by June, even if I could go to Vegas. At least the sun is shining today.
