Question about a dispute with a seller.
I purchased an item through eBay which is covered via protection from paying with PayPal
I waited 2 weeks (for a local shipping, NOT international) then contacted seller who advised mail was slow so please wait
A few days later seller contacted me saying package was returned saying I had moved
I discussed this with seller & we discovered seller had mislabeled package (address was incorrect did not match my PayPal verify address)
So seller had offer to reship item
I am concerned because what happens if I still do not get item? Can I get eBay/PayPal to note account or must I open a ticket to prevent the 30 days from passing (which then would mean I could not open ticket)
eBay help pages are worthless (they all link to same page!)

Paypal has longer limits so you can open a claim for up to 45 days.

If the package has not arrived by Day 43, open the Dispute anyway. You can send a friendly message to the seller saying that you are only doing this to protect your investment.
Ask him for his date of shipping and the service used.
BTW, the 'mail is slow' is, if not a red flag, at least pale pink. There is no reason for the mail not to be moving at the usual rate. No strikes and certainly not the holiday rush of December. I wonder if he originally forgot to ship it or put off shipping it for a few days. But then, I am a cynical old lady and think the worst of people.
Opening a Dispute still allows another 20 days for the dispute to be resolved.

I also am under the impression the seller used the cheapest option for mail (despite tagging me +$5 for auction based on my location)
25 days have elapsed so far so I guess wait another week
It still seems silly to me ebay has no way to let me document my concerns anywhere for the transaction
