Suggestions/Tips

Doesn't hurt to do this from time to time.

Can you vets look into my write ups for both my new & used items and offer any suggestions of changes/tips for wording/relevant info/things to remove etc....

I am currently in the process of changing my "Item Info" shpeel to better represent the fact that although used, my items are cleaned/tested and guaranteed or their money back plus return shipping.

Some comments.

Why all the caps in the listing? All CAPS is considered shouting on the Internet. Why the different sized fonts? (or is the fonts issues caused by the bulk edit?)

Why mention the shipping option used from Canada Post? They are meaningless to most buyers in Canada and more so outside Canada. If you upgrade to Expedited from Lettermail, why mention this?

I think my resoning for the caps is fluency/clarity, if that makes any sense.

The font thing just happend when I did a bulk edit, find and replace.

I'm not sure I understand you shipping comments,  I state what I state so people know how their items are coming because I often have questions about combined shipping....

Do you think I should just remove all of the shipping write up and just go on if people ask?

Hi Steve: I took a look at your ads, and have a couple suggestions. You seem to be doing pretty good, so I feel silly even commenting with my all of 9 feedbacks, but you did ask, and I am struggling right now with my own ads, so I think about these things a lot.

First of all in the "Shipping and Payments" tab under "Return Policies" all it says is Money Back. Your original post says Money Back Plus Return Postage. I would make sure that is stated under return policies. I'd also state the exact line from your original post in each ad. perhaps in your personal item details " my items are cleaned/tested and guaranteed or their money back plus return shipping.

In the main body of your listing I would put your Item Details near the top. Starting with the line from your original post above and then a more specific description of any marks on the case or disc. Every ad that I looked at had the same thing "previously used" "wear on case & disc"  As a customer I'd like more specifics

You have lots of sales, so if the shipping information you include in your ads is working for you then go with it. I am struggling with that part of my ads right now and it's hard to set things up to cover all situations. As a customer though, I would have a couple of questions:

1. I'm wondering if the Free Shipping applies to combined orders of 8 or more?

2. The fact that you don't offer combined shipping to US makes me think that your parcels must fall in the less than 250 gram category and adding more would go into the next category.

I wonder if you could calculate the extra cost and how many more items a US customer could get for that extra cost and include that in your ad.

For instance I just did a quick check based on weights (because I don't know the dimensions of your packages) and it would cost approx 3 dollars more to go up to 500 grams to the US. Not sure how many more items you could get in the parcel for that cost or if it would be worth mentioning..... If I was a US customer though I might like to know

So to conclude, I would put your personal information about the item and your policies near the top of the ad.

Stress the Free shipping within Canada, clarify how many can be shipped free. As mentioned in another reply I don't know if customers really care what service you use, especially when the shipping times are the same, but I know Free Shipping will get their attention.

Stress your guarantee and return policy. The line you used in your original post should be prominent somewhere in each of your ads. That line says you care about the condition of your products AND most importantly back it up with your return policy.

Well, that's all this Newbie can think of right now. Thanks for posting. I'm actually helping myself, while I try to help you

Wendy

Caps, large font, bold. That is very hard to read.

I get what you are asking. Oddly, I asked much the same question the other day on the weekly show. The answer I received was, well, "ask somewhere else". I was disappointed. Poco stepped into the breech and gave me a whole listing full of ideas backed up by rationale.

I have 450 listings to revise. Quite happily I might add.

My sales? My sales are good. They could be better.

I "think" that buyer bahiviour, along with Cassini, has caused a whole lot of buying shifting. I "think" stores are treated better than free listings. I "think" the whole listing and selling algorithm has shifted. Rather suddenly and arbitrarily.

I'm in the process of revision, taking out the caps, taking out the shipping schpeel and making the info write up in general smaller.

I'm hoping the "clean, tested & guaranteed" line helps put some people at ease on my used items because I get this funny feeling a lot of my listings are being looked away from once someone sees a "good" in the condition. I get at least a few questions a week from people saying, "so does "good" mean it skips?"

Using the eBay guideline's for condition I feel like I'm in the small portion of sellers who don't "embellish" the conditions of my items and "hope" a buyer doesn't notice or have the where with all to tell when an item isn't as described. They get it, pop it in the DVD player and it plays and voila! Task completed no questions asked.

If there's one thing I've learned from buying used items on Kijiji for the last 4 years, is that the common person "lies" maybe ignorantly or knowingly, about the condition of their items.

I am adding 45 warranty to all of my listings. It is the same as money back refund, same as Paypal and eBay 45 day, just something else for the buyer to hang onto.

I have always found it is impossible to appeal to everyone ..

I used to have a Personal info section in my description and got dozens of compliments on how it is nice to know a little something about who they are buying from then there is the majority who just think of it as clutter..

I am Revising all my listing as well yet again .. I just did all of them about 6 months ago but I have come up with a perfect way of doing it and removing all the clutter and junk leaving only the basics with a few additive measure for things like expired digital codes because honestly I do not have the time to check everything but I try ...

I have found slipcovers bigggggggggggggg thing I can easily get an extra $2-$10 if my movie has a slipcover and it is stated in the description ... I am removing all the ebay cataloque stuff as it has been wrong many many times and then I have a buyer tell me you should check them .. Even know the buyer is right ebay should not have wrong description I personally wlays have felt I check what I write down ebay should check what they are writing down ...  I use to list alot of newer movies and ebay cataloque would say 1 disc when it was 2 or 3 ...

I hate trying to find the perfect way but after revising 1000 listing 3 times on my time here I think I got it now and will be revising one more time with very creafully everything well as careful as I can be on no sleep 70% of my life LOL ...

Good luck partner hope my sales exceed yours LMAO ... Take care man
