I thought about this yesterday when I was looking for Lisa. I was getting impatient wondering if anyone had seen her. I didn't want to post in another thread because it may have been mised, so I had to email her instead. (Which was no problem by the way)

Then I thought...maybe we could have a thread where we could come and ask about someone or just to say something that just doesn't pertain to anything in particular. It's always a bit weird going 'off subject' in someone else's thread.

So, this thread will be for EVERYone and it could be about ANYthing. You don't ever have to use it, but if you need to, great. Doesn't mean you can't make your own thread, it just mimics the ski chalet after a day of skiing. Say what you want - ask what you want - show your pictures - comment on the dot com threads (yuk yuk) A veritable freebie. I hope it will be useful but if it's not - then...$screw you guys - I'm going home! 🙂

There is so a flea market at St. Jacobs, and a lovely building full of antiques in the town of St. Jacobs. I have bought several items of jewelry there...and I'm sure that Fiona (merday) would be shocked to find out that her booth didn't exist!!!
Barrie used to have a great antiques mall as well...but I'm unsure of what happened...was there a fire last summer...remember BAM...Lisa was involved in letting us know.
Anyhow, Jackie, we are going to spend a weekend shopping when you move here...you will be only an hour from me. I can pick you up on the way to Toronto, and we'll go to Church St, and buy some bargoons. As well as the antique mall there.
I'm iced in again, today, at school this time...we have four grade 4 teachers, and I'm the only one who made it in. The buses didn't run, but some parents dropped kids off...I have 50 kids in my room as soon as lunch "recess" is done...lol...anyone have a tylenol?

Karen - it goes without saying that we'll do the Church St deal. I have thought of that and have it jotted in my mental diary as 'a definitive plan'. Cripes, it's the only way I'll ever get a great deal...to go shopping with the best. Can't wait. I so hope this all comes to fruition!!!!!

Bill - thanks for the link. That was helpful. Expect some emails next week, if all of this works out. How fortunate for me to know someone in the very area!!!!

Hugs,

Jackie...

Jackie, how'd the trip go? I stood at the highway with a sign to welcome you to town but I guess you were in a big rush because you didn't stop. :<)

I just took a look, for a first time, at your Valentine's day theme on your listings. You kept it simple and yet very nice, tasteful, without it being right in your face! No distractions from your listing. Great Job!!!!

Hope it brings in the sales!

Hi Bill and Malcolm - well the trip went fine, except I was sick as a dog the entire time. Then we had to drive home on Tuesday morning in a blinding snow storm. What a drag. Anyway, the interview went well and she said she'd let him know by the end of the week but she didn't call. So, I wonder what's going on there. Not very professional to just not call. However, no worries. We're prepared for either outcome. Sorry I missed you Bill but as sick as I was, I did think about you while I was there. I kept wondering if you were ever anywhere that we were 🙂

Malcolm - thanks for the advice. Sales have been better than expected, too. Of course my volume is small but that's the way I like it. Let's just hope it keeps up. I think that this winter has been rough on so many people and there is an inordinate amount of people staying home and therefore trying to shop online. PERFECT!!!!!!!!!

Hope this posting finds everyone well and having a great ebay week! How are you Glenda girl????

I'm fine thanks Jackie! Had a great winter so far but I don't like to say so too often while everyone else in the country is in the midst of the worst deep-freeze in recent memory. Just popped in for a minute as a break from getting listings ready to upload tomorrow evening.

Take care, good luck on the plans, and everybody stay warm!!!

By the way ... has anyone heard from Don? I haven't seen hide nor hair of him on the board for a long time! I know Edmonton has been having some rough weather, as well as some horrendous fires ... sure hope he's OK!!

Good afternoon all!

It's been an absolutely gorgeous day on the west coast -- sunny for the fourth straight day, warm and definitely feels like spring -- unfortunately even spring only turns an OLD man's fancy to thoughts of food!

Jeff, I wanted to let you know that we tried out our new gloves yesterday - (it was almost warm enough not to need them) - and they worked superbly! I broke 80 easy! And I only took 12 holes to do it!!! I hope you enjoyed skating on the Rideau Canal while we were out playing golf. I also wanted to let you know your cheque's in the mail ... and if anyone's in the market for golf equipment, I recommend Jeff highly!

Thanks Glenda.... glad the gloves worked. They have been a very popular item through the fall and early winter.

Our Ottawa hockey trip was blast. (Hockey wasn't too successful as the kids lost all three of their games). The highlight was certainly Winterlude and skating the Rideau, Beavertails, checking out the ice sculptures.

Ottawa is certainly a wonderful city, but hearing how nice the weather has been on the west coast, Victoria sounds pretty good too!

As mentioned in post 768, we had the great opportunity to enjoy our a week-end of Winterlude in our Nations Capital this past weekend.

It was my first time there, and it was absolutely a great experience. I hope we can make it an annual event because we all enjoyed it.

I am posting a few pics of the ice sculptures and a juggler (who also rode a unicycle) on the Rideau Canal.

Enjoy

That last picture is of a civil servant juggling the Federal books.

Winterlude is so popular that we host my inlaws each year and friends. This year we are down to 16 people staying overnight. Last year we had 26 staying overnight but over 35 for dinner.

Thats what I get as an only child marrying into a family with 9 children.

Its a loud and rowdy Winterlude day at my house with 16 house guests in from the Toronto area. Of course that 16 doesnt include my own family and guests that drop in for dinner.

Oh well, I cant (or perhaps shouldnt) complain as we had 26 sleep over last year with another 8 or thereabouts for dinner.

Thats what I get as an only child marrying into a family with 9 children, tons and tons of in-laws.

I will try to post once or twice on the board this week to keep up-to-date but I will be in Toronto leaving tomorrow until Thursday and then off to Sudbury next Saturday for several days.

Good luck in everyone's sales on eBay this week and Happy Valentine's Day!

Hi the_junyks! and welcome to the .ca PS board! Happy Valentines Day to you as well, and to everyone!

We've spent the day set up at a trade show and don't have the energy to go out for dinner -- leftovers and a nap sound like as romatic as we want. Ain't it fun to grow older??!!!
