Those that claim pitney bowes / ebay global shipping to canda is cheaper

I found as a buyer that I paid 4.95 more to have my seller use global shipping . If you think you are going to get away from Canada post's 9.95 handling fee , you are wrong . Any item transferred to Canada post irregardless of who the international global agent was still pay the 9.95 fee PLUS the global agents handling fee. Most low dollar items coming through Canada Post into Canada are not charged duty or taxes directly BECAUSE of the 9.95 fee. But if you purchase an item off Ebay that uses Global Shipping , you will pay all fees . They call it an import Fee . I bought an $85.00 item using Global shipping and paid a hidden fee of 9.95 for Canada Post , 4.95 to Pitney bowes , an 8.48 import fee and God knows what else for Ebay . I do know I paid Ebay's new shipping fee that sellers get dinged for . Amount unknown. So in my case I paid a known extra fee of $13.43. Why am I complaining you ask . Well , The only reason I purchased this item is that the seller was selling my item 20.00 cheaper than all others for exactly the same product . If it were not for his pricing , I definitely would not use any seller using Global shipping unless they would voluntarily opt out for my shipment . When I asked this seller for this , I got no return answer and was hopeful he would use the opt out option , but he did not.

Why do I cross border shop??? Well , seems Canadian suppliers are not interested in high volume , lower prices and would rather gouge the consumers in many cases. To this I say , American vendors and suppliers are right in tune with consumers . I would much rather support local Canadian business just as Americans want to support their local and national business , but the old greenback value for product supercedes that desire in many cases.

Did you get a notification that the parcel went to Kentuc...

Did you get a notification that the parcel went to Kentucky before it came to you?

If not, your seller messed up.

Some sellers who do not understand the new system (and it was not well explained), will ship directly to Canada, instead of to Pitney Bowes in Kentucky, who then calculate any duty and tax , remit those to Canada, and send your parcel with hundreds of others to Canada. Most, but not all, of these parcels are then handed over to Canada Post for delivery.

If the sellers sent directly to Canada, PB did not get their $4.95 fee, which you paid, but no duty or tax was remitted to Canada, although you paid it,  and of course the shipping was handled by USPS and Canada Post.

And the $9.95 Canada Post fee got charged....

It's just a big bundle of misunderstandings and messes.

I don't know how to straighten it out, but I would suggest starting by looking at the tracking information. No Kentucky? Your seller should be taking responsibility.
