Hello there,
First time that I received a bootleg item unknowingly. The item was listed "As new", and the US seller has more than 4000 good feedback with a 100% rate. He claims he didn't notice the image compression when he screened some of the dvds, nor the lower print quality of packaging on the box & each dvd cases (moiré pattern, letters with a light blurred outline instead of clean sharp print, etc.). I have some dvds from this serie to use as proof to compare both items, and I have enough printing experience & knowledge on dvd/cd to spot a fraudulent production.
I believe the seller when he tells me he didn't know that it's a bootleg, and he states that he bought it from somebody else on eBay. But he doesn't seem to want to refund me the return shipping for the item if I send it back (his terms on page states buyer is responsible for return shipping). I clearly would not have bought it if I had known this was not an official release, so I don't think I should lose money over this transaction.
The case has not been escalated trhough eBay yet, since I only exchange message through the "question to seller" formula in My Ebay. I'm waiting for his final decision over complete refund + return shipping...
My question is: what are my options now? I've never had to deal with such a bad experience before!

Sheesh, enough already.

I think he is trying to invite the appropriate feedback.

I guess it's my fault that I didn't post this sooner... Here's how to deal with counterfeit & illegal copies:

Is there a reason why feedback has not been left yet?

I got my money back, and I don't care anymore. Anyway, he would most likely fight it, and it would be ugly again... It's not even worth it.

Oh please. I don't give a rip if you give me negative feedback.. I wasn't going to respond but this guy is so full of malarkey (the polite word for you know what).. as I prepare for my move, coming across that audio CD that came with the set, there is no way in heck a bootlegger would be even ABLE to make that sort of so called "copy'.. I swear to GOD!
Frederick or whatever your name is (I forgot).. please give me neg feedback.. it'll disappear in a year anyways. I welcome your silly games. Man am I glad I have a sense of humor because people/ s*ciop*ths like you could really make me lose sleep if I couldn't see through the immaturity of it all.
And Mr. 70 yr. Yoda/Pierre: do you really think people think you're the "hand" I bite? You are a most annoying and petty troll at least.
whoo boy!
Bye, boys and girls. And merry Xmas https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sB4_80-I61I

Such a waste.

Please also note the disregard from the original poster/complainer to the question of slipping the discs into a computer to see if "files'' come up. I post for future such allegations against honest sellers who were willing to pay back hoping the items would be returned.
