Unfair feedback!! wwyd?

Hi!! If you take a look at my feedback, you will see I have three negatives and all three are crazy unfair, I just need to vent a bit! I need to know what I can do about the most recent, just left a couple days ago : I am selling this Sonia Kashuk Eyeshadow palette which to my luck got some amazing reviews on youtube so I have been selling lots, with lots of happy customers. However, this one buyer from the UK leaves me a negative with a PRODUCT REVIEW stating her personal opinion about the pigmentation of the shadow?? Wth??

 

SO, I have already requested the buyer to revise feedback, and since she is fairly "green' (only has a feedback score of 3) explained that the feedback system is put in place so that other potential buyers can assess the seller's service such as communication, shipping time, and accuracy of the condition of the items up for sale, and not for product reviews that should be directed towards the manufacturer. FYI, she received the shadow from Canada to the UK in 5 business days.

 

Is there anything eBay customer service can do if I do not hear back from her? My other two negatives are actually from happy buyers who left positive comments but selected negative I assume by accident, but I never heard back from either of those two when I requested feedback revision way back when (Yes, incredibly this happened twice, arrgggghhh!!!!) In these two instances, I never thought to contact eBay. This feedback system is terrible, ALL my negative feedback is unjust and I will get dinged for it arrrrgghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

 

Ok, rant over, I realize all the rest is positive and am thankful for that, but the principle of the unjust feedback is what is getting to me.

PS to Alycat, I have had similar false negatives like the one within the last 6 months and a quick call to eBay got it removed.....

Problem resolved!! The buyer was kind enough to change their feedback left,  wow, I  am very happy about it -  the buyers sure are in control in this area!

She must have left negative FB so you were able to get her to change it which was great.

 

I too had a couple who left positive FB but left low detail seller ratings in a couple of areas. I actually contacted one of the buyers & they sent me an email apologizing saying they had not meant to do that & would like to change it. However there is no way to undue  DSR on eBay if they have left +FB. I even contacted eBay support staff who read the correspondence (which had been made through eBay messages) but still advised me they could not change it so I was stuck with a totally undeserved defect. Talk about unfair,eh! So I can sympathize with you. They really do need to do something about their defect system.  The one that bugs me the most is "item not received". Even though you refund you still get the defect. Why should we be penalized for the Post Office not doing their job.

Before folks get up in arms, I hate the defect system as much as anyone else, but I do think it is intended to reflect what the buyer feels and what it causes.

If I am a buyer and I buy 5 things from various ebay sellers, and 4 do not arrive, even if I get full refunds for all 4, I still didn't get my stuff, my money was tied up in the meantime, and I'm probably not going to buy more stuff from eBay because it never shows up.

Even worse, I'm likely to tell 37 friends of mine not to buy stuff from eBay because it never shows up so don't waste your time.....

I think that is why they created defects for INRs.

Please remember I hate them just as much as everyone else.... but perhaps it puts a different perspective on why they exist...

I recently had an incident where the buyer left me positive feedback and five-star DSRs in all categories because he/she loved the service (and this was all confirmed by buyer-initiated messages) but because they used their iPhone app to leave feedback, it defaulted to the last text comment left for her previous seller which was less than glowing. Nothing could be done but to follow-up. I don't blame the buyer; this is a deficiency in the app. (I've copied and pasted it here from my feedback page but blacked out the buyer's id so that I don't inadvertently evoke the wrath of the moderator.) 

 

I was super confused at first because I knew the item was in mint condition when it left my desk and I pack all my orders personally and the exact same way and not one of 1500+ has ever arrived anywhere wrecked. And postage was the cheapest possible, at cost. Plus, the buyer had sent me a spontaneous message immediately on receipt saying we had made them extremely happy with everything which was one of the nicest messages I have ever received and then the feedback was left and it was odd so we communicated and they were devastated to see what they had accidentally left behind. The comment left for me is verbatim from their previous transaction. 

 

If, as a buyer, you have ever used your iPhone app to leave feedback, you know how easy this is to do. I've nearly done it myself. I try wherever possible to leave feedback at my desk now. It is an accident waiting to happen.
