WARNING!!! New CHECKOUT SYSTEM to be rolled out on .CA soon.

wonder if anyone else has read the feedback on the new eBaY Checkout that they are very soon rolling out here in Canada.

From the US discussion board it looks like eBaY has once again managed to take a good product and turn it into junk.

Seems like the new CHECKOUT has alot of problems processing data - I just can imagine how it will handle Canadian Taxes - lol.

I looked at the discussion and every single post was negative.........everyone seems disgusted by these changes..as I gather the "new & improved" checkout just doesn't work. Go the announcements at right >>>>>>>>>>>> click on the checkout announcement, then click on the discussion board link.........scary stuff !!

Automatic default to multi-seller checkout -- so buyers can go through Checkout once to pay for multiple items from multiple sellers

Wotinell is this??!!!! Does this mean that if a buyer purchases an envelope from fenian and also one postcard from me, they make ONE PAYMENT? And we're supposed to trust PayPal to credit each of us with the correct amount, including taxes and P&H???? I think I missed the chapter where everything worked as it should ??!!!! When did eBay OR Paypal learn Canadian taxes??

You can opt in or out of this feature in the Preferences section re payment from buyers. I had opted in when I first started to sell (naive as I was at the time) and forgot about it. I have just opted out.

So it caused you no problems? Why change then?

I don't understand why multi-seller checkout is an issue?

I guess it's because if you read through all of the listings on this board, nothing seems to work.....checkout, markdown manager, turbo lister......and on and on.

It's like I have said before. Every time I decide I will try Turbo Lister, which I have downloaded to my computer, someone leaves a post saying it isn't working right. I actually did try recently to use it and I continuously got an alert that eBay was not reading it and to try again later. Later was always the same thing. And then trying to put a new logo in my Store...I still haven't been able to do it and I put it in the same way as I put in my old logo.

How do I know that there won't be problems eventually with the multi-seller payment system too? It seems that the less features you have to use on eBay the better. Like the new system of showing your combined shipping as a discount instead of additional item charge...it doesn't accurately reflect the charge for each country. I still have a lot to learn about computers in general and don't have the time to have the added problems of undoing something that didn't work.

Boy, I have let off some steam...now I feel better. No offense, recped. I am just afraid of getting into problems and not being able to get out of them without a lot of headaches. But give me time!!

Instead of releasing new products eBaY should concentrate on fixing the problems with the current products.

The CanadaPOST Shipping Calculator is still not working properly and is a major pain in the butt for us sellers and also for their precious BUYERS.

At no time has eBaY even admitted that a problem exists and when we can expect them to fix it.

Whatever resources they have are being used to release new crap rather then fix the old crap that is PURE CRAP.

Maybe if I use some plain english words to describe their CRAP code they might get the point and fix the CRAP coding.

Again you had it "on" without a problem. I have also had multi-seller payment enabled since day one, I've never had an issue with it. The one complaint is that if I understand correctly it may interfere with confirmed address only blocks if you have them (I don't). As always you have the option to turn off multi-seller the only change is that the default is "on" as opposed to "off".

How do you turn it off and what happens if you do? Is it just that that item has to be paid for separately from the buyer?

It's in My eBay and yes if you have it turned off and your buyer goes to pay for items with PayPal they are not automatically presented with your listing as one that can be paid for.
