Hi there folks.
First off, if this is a really simple answer please accept my apologies for asking but here goes anyway.
I have never listed on ebay.com, having always listed on .ca but I see references all the time saying that I can get an additional 50 free postings on ebay.com every month. So i decided that i should start doing this despite the sort of hassle for shipping in your listing for Canada Post on the American side but when I log in to ebay.com I am greeted with the same amount of listings left as is shown on .ca. 9 used and 41 remaining.
So what is it I am missing here? It appears that .com is keeping track of the listings I make on .ca and I can't get an additional 50 free.
Can someone please clue me in on this and again, apologies if I am missing something really simple.
Thank you in advance.
Cheers

The count for "free" listings available on eBay.com will appear AFTER you have listed your first listing on eBay.com.

"for a dumb question"
Not "dumb" at all. Unfortunately eBay does very little to provide answers to that question which keeps coming up from time to time.
To be candid, I think eBay wishes sellers did not know about their ability to list on both sites without affecting their maximum number of "free" listings.

Pierre: I can't find the number of free listings left, does it also apply to the new store free listings?

It has nothing to do with havening a store or not.
Go to your Selling Manager, click on Selling Manager, and you will find the information in the panel at lower right under "Listing Offers".
The information appears for each site (eBay.ca and eBay.com) AFTER you have posted at least one listing under the promotion.
To determine which is which, check the times. eBay.com works on Pacific time and eBay.ca works on Eastern time.

Thank you Pierre, found it. I have had a store for a long time, so this is the first time I have had a number of free listings that I needed to check on.

triber, are you doing okay in listing any items on eBay.com? I wonder because I had a hard time in listing just one fricking item for over one hour due to shipping information.
It seems that there is no option for us to include the information for Canada and International. It includes "buyers have to contact sellers for infomation". I don't want that. I want the capability to list the shipping costs for Canada and International on the page.
When I tried to click "Canada" and it comes up with "see more shipping services" and I clicked it and it came up with all USPS mail services and nothing else!! Very frustrating.
Now I understand why we are seeing so many US sellers with their listings that include "seller may not ship to Canada"!! It is because eBay doesn't include the capability for the sellers to include the shipping information on the page!! NO wonder!!
As a non-store I was able to do that but as a store, I cannot!?? It doesn't make senses!!
Come on, eBay make the page more easier and more options for us to choose than limit it like I said above. Right now I am discourage from listing anything on eBay.com until it is changed for easier!! Sheesh!!

huh? Of course there are options for U.S. sellers to sell internationally. They use USPS international options.

It isn't that difficult. You do have to use a flat rat but I believe you use flat rates most of the time anyway. For shipping within the U.S. you use the category "shipping from outside USA. You have a choice of standard, economy or expedited.
For shipping within Canada use Int'l shipping. You also have 3 choices when using that.,,I use standard.
I also use Standard Int'l shipping for all other international countries.
I don't think there is any need for putting more than one option for each country considering most people choose the least expensive option anyway.

I'm not sure what you mean by that. The shipping options are the same for everyone.

Excuse me! It IS NOT THERE!!! It is blank!! The only thing on the page is for US shipping and nothing other options for Canada or International.
It kept coming up with "We are unable to calculate your shipping cost based on your current item location. Please enter a Valid item location which includes the city, zip code and country. If you item location is not within in the U.S. please select 'Flat rate shipping'"
I did selected Flat rate shipping but it denied me each time!!
I think the problem is that they include package details that is not revelation. Why they have to include the package details is beyond me? It is not the final decision as we can choose different packaging at the end when the item is sold, so don 't need it. It is enough in PayPal Shipping, no need to have ANOTHER one on eBay page!
As for a non-store, I can do that on eBay.com but as a store, I seem cannot do that, that is what is so frustrating about trying to list anyting on eBay.com as a store subscriber!!
Did you listed anything on eBay.com? If yes, is it okay? If you haven't list anything on eBay.com, please check and find out for yourself and see why I am having problems.
Thanks.

"We are unable to calculate your shipping cost based on your current item location. "
That is correct.
If you are shipping from Canada, it is usually best to list on eBay.ca as sellers have many shipping options through Canada Post, including "calculated shipping".
If you wish to list on eBay.com, it is important to understand this is basically the USA site used by American sellers. Canadians and others can use it BUT only US based shipping options are offered.
When listing on eBay.com and shipping from Canada, you CANNOT used calculated shipping. Period. You must use fixed cost shipping using "Standard Shipping from outside the US" for shipment to the USA and "Standard International Shipping" for other countries (including Canada.
"Why they have to include the package details is beyond me? ":
Because the majority of sellers using eBay.com are Americans and may need the information for "calculated shipping" using American carriers.
"As for a non-store, I can do that on eBay.com but as a store"
Having or not having an eBay store has nothing to do with listings and methods of shipping. The listing form is the same and works the same way (except for the store category option available only if you have a store)

By the way, it would much easier to be able to help if you posted your questions using your selling ID.

Most of my listings are on .com.It is different than .ca when it comes to shipping but it is doable.

It sounds like you were in the calculated shipping area rather than the "Flat: Same costs to all buyers" area.
