A Chinese XXL is more like a Medium in American or maybe even a Small. Look at the seller's feedback for comments on how the sizes fit. Check the measurements in the listing. They will probably be in metric, so get a tape measure. It would be very unusual if there were no measurements but if there are none, it means a size XXL wouldn't fit a 5-year-old.
