What would my total final cost be when purchasing a car?

If I were to have a winning bid of a $1000.00 on a car I wanted. What would be the Total cost of that car landed on my doorstep in Canada?  (lets say it was purchased in the US)

I imagine that the extra costs beyond that $1000 USD would then be, Ebay fees, S&H, Insurance and Duty.

Would you be able to help clarify this for me as I haven't done this before.

As well as taxes and possible duty,you will have to pay for a safety inspection before you can register the car in Canada. As well,there are import restriction on certain vehicles.what taxes you have to pay depend on which province you live in. You should read this page before committing yourself to purchasing an out of country vehicle. You don't want to have the vehicle refused entry into Canada.

The seller pays eBay and Paypal fees, not the buyer.

You will also have a customs brokerage fee to pay to the shipper, if you do not pickup the car yourself and drive it home,

It would be a good idea to ask on the eBay Motors board what self-brokerage entails.
