I do everything by Fixed Price Buy It Nows. Whenever I "relist" or "sell similar", I click through and SUBMIT the auction. I then usually have to edit the auction and reset the auction length back to 7 days, because it has changed itself to 3 days or 5 days. Does anyone else have this problem? It doesn't happen every time, but perhaps 1/3 of the time. There seems to be no rhyme or reason - it appears completely random. It's frustrating not only because it wastes my time, but also makes my auction appear "modified", which some buyers find confusing. I've also lost chances to sell items because I didn't notice they had changed themselves to 3 day auctions, and went through without being purchased. If they had been 7 days like they were supposed to be, they probably would have sold.
