Who has sold to customers in Russia?

Hi Guys,

I have received an order from a buyer in Russia.  My listing did not include Russia as a country that I sell to.

Is it safe to sell there if I use Canada Post Tracking Small Parcel shipping.  I have a rate from CP for 100 gms  at $49.48 tax in.

I haven't presented this to the buyer.  The item is only worth $60.  He has requested tracked shipping.  He is an international buyer with about 30 eBay feedbacks 100% positive.

I guess my question is ---- will I be covered with pay pal guarantee?

Re: Who has sold to customers in Russia?

It makes sense CP would only insure something they can track, so that lets the first 2 cheap ones out. But I do wonder why only the expensive one says it has DC.

And if tracking IS included in Surface, why then can a seller not use it and even if a buyer claims INR and gets refunded, when the tracking later shows "Delivered" can the seller not file for a reversal or whatever the word is. ?

Is tracking ALWAYS included in Surface mail? I never use Surface because I thought it wasn't, even though I never actually asked at the postal counter.

Re: Who has sold to customers in Russia?

Tracking has been included with International Parcel Surface as long as I have been selling, and longer I'm sure than that.

I don't understand why tracking available isn't showing there. I'm not sure when that stopped showing, either.

Canada Post does need to make it more clear to its users which services are tracked and which are not.

This oversight certainly doesn't help.

Oh, and to clarify: tracking ins't included in Small Packets Surface. Only International Parcel Surface.

Re: Who has sold to customers in Russia?

ypdc_dennis always has a finger on the pulse of things happening at CPC. Maybe he will come back to the thread and clarify and/or confirm some of these finer points. Like when the information about tracking as a feature disappeared from the page where International Parcel (Surface) and International Air Parcel is outlined as a service choice.

@ypdc_dennis: come back come back wherever you are!

Re: Who has sold to customers in Russia?

Right, those cheap ones (SP Surface & SP Air) show no insurance so that will mean no nothing!
Int'l Parcel (Surface & Air) both show $100 ins coverage at least. But the only DC I see is Priority Worldwide Pak.

"Canada Post does need to make it more clear to its users which services are tracked and which are not."

No kidding!! How else can people know what to choose? I really hope this is not some accidental slip to sell a lot more of the expensive services. But they need to show clearly and unequivocally what they offer and what people get when they buy.

https://www.canadapost.ca/tools/pg/manual/PGIntDestDetails-e.asp?table=tblCountry&txtLetter=RU

Canada Post has temporarily suspended acceptance of non-document shipments via Priority Worldwide destined for the Russian Federation.

Non-document with tracking:

International Parcel -- sounds like you got a surface quote which is way too slow. Air adds another $20 to the cost.

Document only:

Registered mail is available for less than $30

UPDATE,

@murphcrud, I posted the question to the Seller Central board (the best place for chats, opinions, thoughts and arguments) and if you want to have a look to see what others say,
