Why are so many Canadian listings being sold in US dollars?

Sure I get that you get an extra 20% with the exchange rates, but it make it complicated for the buyer and screws them with exchange rates.  Ebay should ban this practice and force sellers to list in the currency of their country.

Most countries must use their own currency.

Canada is the only country with the privilege of choosing the currency we sell in.

Since Canada has 10% of the population, and historically has been less inclined to buy by mail order than Americans, we prefer to use a currency that most of the world understands and the only one which Americans , the largest market in the world, understand.

It should also be said that , unlike Americans, most Canadian sellers will ship internationally.

Note also, that when shopping on eBayCANADA both currencies show on the listing and there is no reason for Canadians to get confused.

If most of your customer base is America, like mine it makes sense to sell in their currency. I get 98% of my sales in the USA. And it is not confusing for Canadians, just got to Ebay.ca and it shows Canadian. Ebay.com Shows the American amount.
