Why has an item dissapeared from my summary after opening request?

I started a request to ask a seller to confirm whether an item that was long overdue was properly sent because the tracking number would not work for me. They responded that they used a fake tracking number and asked me to wait another ten days. Then the item dissapeared from my summary.

Does a seller have the ability to cancel an order so that a buyer cannot leave feedback? Is there another reason that this item has dissapeared from my summery? I can still access details of this purchase through the open request.

Do not waste your time on that one.  Contact PayPal and file a claim for non-receipt explaining that the tracking number provided by the seller was fake.

If it has been more than 60 days you might have to change the view date on the top of your purchases page.

If it has been that long you may not be able to win an item not received claim on ebay but you have up to 180 days after payment to file a claim on paypal. I agree with Pierre that there is no point in wasting time...you should file a claim right away.
