a fraudulent seller on ebay canada advertising 1 oz gold coin $988.00 .. is this ok?

what % of gold coin sellers on ebay are legitimate trustworthy ? because my encounters are poor, ebay has closed sellers accouts after i've paid then refunded me without explanation of why. now ebay directed me to ppal for refund because my return request magicaly was closed. and the seller is sending out 5 loonies in replace of 1 oz gold coin. i left negative feedback for my first time ever to warn the other gold buyers but recently seen it was removed..wow.. is ebay out of their minds or are they absent minded??? paypal getting me my $988.00 back, but confidence is gone , so goodluck, fairwell , chow .

I still see negative feedback for that seller with the same complaint as yours from a buyer with 833 feedback.

You bought what you thought was a gold coin.

You received five loonies.

You opened an Item Not As Described dispute.

You won the dispute.

Paypal has (or will be) refunding your $988.

If you back your PP account with a credit card, a good idea, check there for the refund.

You left negative feedback.

The feedback was removed because eBay deems that the dispute cancels the transaction and therefore no feedback can be left.

There are sellers who have been messed around by scamming buyers (yes, those exist too) who are grateful that there is only one 'punishment' allowed in these disputes.

If the seller left you any feedback and if it remains also unlikely, you may be able to leave a Response to that feedback. The most efffective Responses, like the most effective feedback , are calm and factual. 'Sent bronze dollars not gold coin'. for example.

EBay is not a venue for buying easily counterfeited items, although as online marketplaces go, it is safer than most.

The proof is that you are getting a refund.

Just for the record, were you required to return the loonies?

from a buyer with 833 feedback.

If that feedback remains, it is likely that the buyer did not open a Dispute and is out his money.

If someone is selling gold coins $200 below the market price, how is it possible to expect this not to be a fraud?

In fact, you did very well - you've got 5 free loonies!

The feedback was removed because eBay deems that the dispute cancels the transaction and therefore no feedback can be left.

If the seller wins the case, negative feedback may be removed but when the buyer wins, feedback is not removed.

You can backtrack through the OP's feedback as a buyer and find the seller in question.

Odd thing is, the feedback # shown on the OP's profile don't match the feedback # of the buyer who left the "sent me 5 loonies" negative feedback.

It should be noted that there is now a second negative feedback for that seller with the same complaint..."sent me 5 loonies"

I think that sellers days will be numbered.
