Unfortunately, words with ' or - or , in them can't be searched for on eBay. Well, that's not true, sometimes it works. But in most cases, it just takes you to a generic white error page with "404 not found". What's up with that? It's been that way for a few months. A lot of items I sell have apostrophes and commas in their names... like "Konda's Banner" or "Okina, Temple to Ancestrors". I've noticed that these auctions aren't selling very well, and I attribute it to eBay's bad search engine. If a buyer can't search for something, how are they going to buy it?
The only way I've found around this is to search in the little bar on the top right of the screen. This seems to work more often than the normal search page. But it doesn't save your settings (sort by date/price/etc, search only in certain categories, search only for BINs, etc) so it is often very tedious.
You'd think eBay would make the search engine work properly?!?
