I'm not going to link the "learn more" details since eBay is reusing the text from the last 500 item promo without updating the text (they had the wrong dates last time and still do for this one).

eBay really needs better quality control.

Not for me, I wasn't invited. Unfortunately. I exceeded my allotment of store subscriptions listings about 150 items ago.

I got a YOU ARE NOT INVITED.

Perhaps a more direct and effective message from ebay to uninvited sellers would be YOUR BUSINESS IS NO LONGER WANTED.

I had figured it showed up in my promo section because I had paid for 20+ listings yesterday evening...

Curious to see if I actually get an email invite for this one.

I ran out of listings on Oct. 27 in the middle of a pile of about 328 coming up for auto-renewal at GTCs. This promo would have taken some of that edge off but I guess it's not meant to be. My sales performance hasn't been going like gangbusters lately so that may be the reason I was skipped.

Thanks to the OP for the heads-up on this promo!

I wasn't invited, but then I think the eBay bots may have noticed by now that I haven't used any of the last 6 or 8 .ca promos I've activated.  (I activate them just for the fun of it, to see how many of these useless promos they keep sending me, since I'm now listing almost exclusively on .com).

I do wonder if my GTC listings are a dis-incentive for ebay to invite me to promos like this. If the listings were 30-day BINs, then ebay might worry I would leave then to stagnate as unsold until the time was right to relist them. With GTCs, ebay can be fairly assured that I won't cancel the ones that run me over at the end of the month. Or maybe I would. Starting now.

When they so lovingly upped the limit of Anchor stores from 2,500 listings to 10,000 listings (triple ugh), it pretty much locked those of us who will most likely never use anywhere near the 10K listings, out of the "free listings" soirees.

But, I shouldn't complain. I mean, now I get, for "free," 33 cent, eBay branded boxes for the bargain price of $2.00 each through their incredibly well thought out coupon extravaganza. Tra la la, la de da,

But..............fear not.

They are working on a an equitable coupon program for Canadian sellers.

No, really. They are.

These things take time.

Donchaknow.

My math says quadruple, not triple. You must be doing eBay math ... lol.

I received this promo and the last one too. I activated them but did not use them. I have not listed anything since last spring. The postal strike situation made me stop listing and I just stayed that way. Just fed up with eBay and all the BS a seller has to through especially the constant changes twice a year. Far too much work complying with all the changes. No fun in eBay for a casual seller like me.

eBay, especially eBay.com and San Jose who run eBay.ca Canada too, are so out of touch with reality. I know, supports will say they are doing things right because GMV keep increasing each year. That "Success" that kills off many old time sellers and/or just burns them out.

The triple was in reference to the "ugh" as in 3 X ughs.

And your math was absolutely right.

It would appear that those of us who are registered on .ca but who have opted to list on .com in USD are out of luck where promotions are concerned.  We can't use the .ca promotions and we are not invited to the .com ones.

I still have a number of GTC listings on .ca in USD which were supposed to have ended in August but, first, eBay stated they did not have the mechanism to end them and, recently, announced that they would carry over until January '17.  All new listings, however, have been on .com and I would welcome a promotion for those.

Another one I have missed - have not had one now since the postal dispute ended & they gave us one in CDN funds. I list on both .ca & .com. Have a store so want to take advantage & use all my free ones that I can. I prefer to sell in USD but will do both. I have not received a .com offer since they made .ca in CDN funds only but it appears other CDN sellers have gotten them so not sure why I am not getting any invites now. Used to get about 1 per month. No rhyme or reason to how they dole these out I guess. Would be nice to be included now though leading up to Christmas when hopefully sales will improve.

I don't know that we can conclude this is what drives invitations to promos.  Actually, given that one of eBay's experts unequivocally stated during a seminar this summer that store owners should be using GTC, I can't imagine eBay would deliberately be punishing sellers who follow that advice.  Who really knows?  Maybe the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing in this context (which is not an unfair statement where eBay is concerned). Smiley LOL

For what it's worth, I've been listing primarily with GTC for at least a couple of years now, and I've been getting every single promo invitation -- until this current one.  I can only assume I was passed over this time because I simply haven't been listing on .ca since the switch to $CDN-only listings, and most of the recent promos seem to be targeted at .ca listings.

Over time however I've activated every promo I've been invited to, whether I've actually used each one or not, and every once in a a while they invite me to one I can use.

As a matter of record, I didn't make any claim to have figured out the eBay promotion-selection process. The first three words of my post stated, 'I do wonder' which were words I chose carefully and accurately.
