I had the same thought... Must be coming soon
Last year the Spring Seller Update came on March 19.
There was some discussion a while back on eBay,.com... but that died
We may be due for a complete revamp of ratings, or how a buyer can evaluate a seller...
Buyers do appear to have less of a free run on eBay...
eBay has made some adjustments that do benefit sellers.... More... Maybe....

One adjustment that might be appreciated by all Canadian sellers..
Postage is going up each year... and will most likely ( or will definitely) keep going up each year.
The perception by many US and other International buyers is that postage is high and not appropriate....Yet Canadian sellers are not overcharging.
Non-Canadian buyers might give a low rating... not necessarily a 1 or 2..... due to a perception of high shipping cost.... (but not excessive)
Canadian sellers need some form of protection with respect to the high cost of shipping.... as perceived by buyers

Not sure about that. US rates are way behind their costs. The spectre of American rates going up to what the market is would negate the need for a Cdn "exemption.
There was the .com survey about seller rating changes that floated around last fall. Buyers that leave ratings is dropping like a rock. DSR and FB is no longer representative of seller performance. Too many sellers are begging for pos FB and high DSRs, Too many are buying it.

Aha! I think it's more than a hint, 'poco'. It looks like Kalvin is getting ready in advance for the expected onslaught. I hope that doesn't mean even more drastic and controversial changes.
I am beginning to dread the SSU's. It took me 7 months to get over the last one.

My inventory is books... and on eBay.com the cap for shipping a sigle book is $4.00
USPS Media mail... for books... is very low compared to the cost with Canada Post.....
Shipping a one kg book within the US is about $4.00 using media mail.
Compared to Canada Post shipping from Canada to the US at about a factor of 4 times higher.....

cuomo
That's why I switched a few years ago to listing on dotCA. Calculated Shipping is available to US sellers but not to international sellers shipping on dotCOM.
It is discouraging having to charge $12 to ship a thick paperback to Fort MacMurray, and somehow encouraging that Canadian readers are willing to pay that.
On a related note, the last bookstore on the Sparks Street Mall in Ottawa closed this past September after nearly 50 years. They had moved from independent to WH Smith to Chapters/Indigo. At one point in the late 90s there were five booksellers in three blocks on the mall.

I still have a ton of pictures to take and photo editing to do to get good photos in the correct size. And I received a complaint recently that one of my "minimum" sized photos was too large!

I expect the official change to Stores, not exactly sure what that means but I expect mostly cosmetic.
I also expect some changes to Feedback, don't know what and don't really care.
Beyond that probably some smoke and mirrors that are essentially meaningless.
I do not expect any changes to basic fees (but I could be wrong on that).
The announcement will probably come out on March 18th and go into effect in mid-May.

The seller updates are usually announced on a Tuesday so maybe this Tuesday morning. Soon anyway.
As to the content of the Seller Updates, who knows. Hopefully it will not mean a lot of work to conform.
