It is possible to buy on ebay just using a Visa (or Amex or Mastercard), - and quick & easy, too. I do it all the time. Find the item you want, click the 'buy' button, then 'confirm'. Go to the listing in your Purchase History and click on 'Pay Now', and then you will be asked to Choose a way to pay. At the bottom click Don't have a paypal account, and simply enter your card info, confirming until you are done.
If you want a paypal account with your credit card attached, you will need to sign up for a paypal account at www.paypal.com then link your ebay 'herbielbjoann' account with your paypal account. Be sure to read through the agreement before signing on. The process may take a few days.
If that is what you want, however, you can have it both ways if there is something you wished to get right away, -- buy it now with your card (paypal processes the payment but the seller has no idea what the source of the funding is or any other financial info) and then sign up for the pp acc and wait as required. You can continue using your card on ebay until the pp acc is set up, -- so you won't have to miss out on anything really good.
Happy shopping. 🙂

While some large sellers and sellers who also have "real life" businesses can accept Visa directly, most sellers do not have merchant accounts .
That is why your purchase will be routed through Paypal.
The seller never sees your financial information with PP, whether you are buying with a card (recommended ) or from your bank account (acceptable but slow).
Paypal is very safe, and especially when backed by a credit card, affords you excellent backup in case of problems with your purchase.
