how do I track a item once it has reached the global shipping area in Kentucky

Hello 'jackroadhouse',

As someone around here aptly stated recently, the 'tracking' aspect of GSP items is yet another of those empty promises that came to nothing.

An item that has been sent to Kentucky will certainly arrive to you eventually, - and the parcel will have a number on it.  It's just that these folks seem to think it is not worth the effort to pass this information along.

So it is unlikely they will have the courtesy to post the number to you.  This is not the seller's responsibility because all that the seller is required to do is mail the item to Kentucky.  After that, the parcel gets opened, assessed, and repackaged before being forwarded on to you.  The seller will have no idea what happens at that point.

So if you need the number to arrange for someone to be home to receive it, or because you don't want a parcel sitting on your doorstep all week when you are out of town, you will need to call Pitney-Bowes with the transaction numbers and details, and they can tell you what the number is and what delivery service is being used (Canada Post, CanPar, or some other courier).

Not a great system, but that's how it is. Smiley Happy

And remember, tracking is not usually useful to the buyer.

If the item does not arrive in the promised time, go to the Resolution Centre and open an Item Not Received dispute.

If PB/GSP cannot prove delivery, they will refund you in full.

This will not affect your seller*.

If the item arrives after you are refunded, you may as well keep it since PB does not have any interest in reclaiming it.

*It would be polite to inform the seller that the parcel was so late that you opened a Claim, but that this will not affect her. At the same time tell her how much you paid to the GSP for import fees. This may encourage her to rethink using this badly designed programme.
