how soon is email sent after using unpaid item assistant

I set up the Unpaid Item Assistant a couple of hours ago & so far nothing seems to have happened.  Aren't I & the buyer supposed to get an email showing the dispute has been opened???

If not, the Assistant will not kick in.

Nor can you start a UID yourself until 96 hours have passed. This is partly a leftover from the days of mailed payments, partly an allowance for e-checks in the USA (Canadians take longer), and partly just politeness.

In light of femmefan's excellent answer you may want to consider removing the bit about expecting payment in 48 hours from your listings.it's unenforceable anyway in light of the 4 day wait before an unpaid item dispute can be opened.
