Post office returned pkg to me as unable to deliver to address as given by buyer. Advised buyer and they wish me to send to their corrected address and will pay for new shipping. How does buyer pay me?
If I send an invoice through PayPal will that look as if I am trying to charge extra money for their purchase? If buyer pays by "send money" through PayPal does that look as if I am trying to circumvent PayPal? Which is correct way?
Thanks!

Sending the money through PayPal is the only option that I know of. I have sent an invoice for similar situations with no problems. eBay does not give you the option to do it through them.

Hi Western, I did the same thing, sent an invoice for the shipping again, when a parcel got returned. No problems.

I have done the same thing as well (item got bounced back to me and buyer wanted it reshipped) by sending a paypal invoice to the buyer asking for the shipping amount.

Do I just go to PayPal and select Request Money? Thanks.

You could do that or they could just use the send money function on their end after you tell them the amount. Or, you can send an invoice through Paypal. I usually do that on the classic screen.

Thanks pj, I sent a request money through PayPal. I went on to the classic screen but didn't see any place that said to send invoice, just request money. Then of course, I tried to send an email to advise buyer of how to pay and eBay wouldn't let me send the email, they thought I was asking for payment without going through eBay!

If the situation comes up again, on either the new or classic screen you can click on 'send and receive' and it will show you three options...the third option allows you to set up and send an invoice.

Well that's weird, I tried on both the new and classic sites and got only two choices, send money or request money. I'll check using a different browser next time I'm on my PayPal account.

That is odd because I did double check that it still worked like that before I posted. Is your Paypal account a business account? If not, that could be the difference.

Yes, business account. Anyway, she did pay me, but what with the dollar changing, the re-packaging (by the time it got back to me the pkg was in prettty bad shape) and the paypal fees I think I'm out a couple of bucks. Oh well, at least I gave good customer service. Darn package better make it to NZ now! Oh yes, and this was just pkg no. 1 of 2 (which hasn't made it back to me so far).
