i received a negative feedback

Hi there ... ill Explain my negative feedback story and tell you how little Ebay actually helps Sellers

i Sold an item to a person who gave me the wrong address in ebay shipping details within a few days of placing his order he already opened a case for non receipt of his item and sends me a message saying hes sent me many messages and saw i relisted his item and wants to know whats going on .... i message him and reassures i hadnt relisted his item and its been just a few days it should be there anytime ( i do have several items that are the same because one looks like one you purchased doesnt mean its relisted !!! ) He immediately upgraded to a claim mind you this is just like 8-10 days after purchasing the item . The following day i receive the item returned to me because the address EBAY gave me in shipping details is incomplete ... so i contact the buyer with this information and offers reshipping or a refund ... he chooses a refund so i do it immediately ... problem solved right ??? you would think so but no lol . a couple of days ago i received a negative feedback from this same person . His reason is for Non Receipt of his item ( Reason he didnt receive it is he gave me the wrong address and wanted a refund instead of reshipping ) ... I contacted EBAY because i dont think its right i get a negative for doing all i can to make this transaction happen ... everything by EBAY policy . Guess what ... They wont remove it ... i have the envelope with his address on it ... returned by Canada Post for wrong address , i have the shipping information supplied by EBAY which matches it word for word , they have the conversation between me and the buyer in my messages showing he wanted a refund and no reshipping even though the reason it got return was the buyers wrong address being in shipping details and I still have to keep the negative . Basically EBAY told me that a buyer can say anything they want ... give false negative feedbacks ... unless its obscene they wont change them .... Gotta love selling on ebay making them profit and being given absolutely no respect by Ebay as a seller .... Buyers are allowed to do anything they want on EBAY without consequence . Its sad but its reality

"because the address EBAY gave me in shipping details is incomplete ..."

Could you provide more details, please.

Did the address supplied by PayPal matched the address supplied by eBay exactly?

Did you use the eBay address supplied in their transaction confirmation email or from "View Sales Record"?

Without giving the actual address (that would be against posting rules) could you provide an example of what information is missing preventing Canada Post from delivering the parcel?

Re: i received a negative feedback

The address was showing in shipping details line for line like this example

John Smith

as to why it is incomplete i cannot tell you ... i asked the buyer if he was in an appartment ... if there was a detail missing ... he did not reply just wanted a refund ... so i did so a refund immediately  .... The address supplied in everything ebay gave me was identical to what was on the envelope .... but they are allowing me to receive a negative for an unreceived item ... even though the buyer had requested a refund instead of reshipping even though the reason i shipped to the wrong address was there was a wrong addy provided ... its in my messages the guy wanted a refund ... envelope matches shipping detail addy percisely and they have the envelope and access to all the info to view ... the reason they say they will not change it is i didnt use a tracking number ... this isnt about the person wanting a refund for a non receipt where a tracking number is required ... its about a buyer giving false info and a negative feedback which does affect your ability to see if you receive a number of them ... this is my first because i do follow proper proceedure for all my selling and do what possible to ensure customers are happy with their purchases  ... he asked not to receive it and get refunded ... it shows in the messages between me and the buyer

Re: i received a negative feedback

"its about a buyer giving false info"

I think that is the question.  Is it false?

"The address supplied in everything ebay gave me was identical to what was on the envelope"

Was it identical to the address provided by PayPal as the "ship to" address in the payment confirmation? That is an important question.

There are several possibilities here and it is much easier to work with facts (when available) then assumptions.  At this stage, it is not possible to conclude that the buyer gave eBay "false" information.  Yes, the buyer was wrong in leaving negative feedback but, in order to have it removed, one of two things must happen:

1) the buyer agrees to retract the negative feeedback

2) eBay retracts it because it violates its policies

So, let's work one step at the time to determine if there was in fact a policy violation.

In addition to checking the PayPal payment, have you checked other directories (such as 411 or Canada Post Postal Code search) to determine if the address was correct?  It is entirely possible that the mistake was made by the post office.  It is also possible the parcel was delivered at the correct address but in fact refused by the buyer - or someone living at that address - claiming "wrong address".

I should add that I find it interesting that your buyer is a regular buyer of similar collectibles and leaves positive feedback for other sellers.

Re: i received a negative feedback

Buyer's ID only started a few months ago. They sound a tad paranoid. Perhaps they are American? I jest. Buyer formed the 'tude you had not shipped and were stealing their money because of listing a similar. This is why I change things up on a "sell similar". I don't want what happened to you.

So, they have a bad attitude right off the bat. Parcel does not get to them, why? I "think" it was just a mailing glitch. That ID has been buying and selling.

Do a "Google map" search and see what you find. Bet you find no reason for the returned parcel.

In the end you have a paranoid buyer, error in parcel return, and they leave a neg as buyer's "opinion". Good luck getting that reversed.

Seller FB is meaning less and less. eBay is trying to diminish the importance of FB as it is NOT representative of sellers or buyers. Your reply was good. Let it go and it will drop out of sight, soon.

Buyer's ID was created in 2003, has made many purchases this year 2013 but has been purchasing since 2010 and buyer is located in Canada.

Re: i received a negative feedback

Fierescue........... If you've reported all the details accurately and haven't left any important details out (such as the flavor of exchanged messages)  then, I'm surprised that the FB was not removed for you.

That is............ there is a new trend to remove FB that can be shown to be contrary to the facts.

If you have reported acccurately, then perhaps calling eBay and insisting on speaking to a manager might help.

Worth a phone call in my books.

It may sounds silly, but was there a postal code in the address provided?
