Earlier today, we announced plans to implement a Paperless Payments policy for eBay Canada.

As most of you are likely aware, a very similar safe electronic payments policy was implemented for our US site last year.

On April 15, we'll be here from 11am until noon EDT to do our best to respond to any questions that you might have with respect to the new policy.

Hi toby_le_pue,

There's no Mature Audiences category listed on the FAQs because there is no Mature Audiences category on eBay.ca. It only exists on eBay.com, where it is an excepted category.

I hope that clarifies.

Hi Rodney,

Yes, I DO see it and YES, I have reported these listings to T & S only to realize that T & S takes NO ACTION in response to these reports.

Re ProPay, can Canadians receive payments in the currency of the listing (US$ or CA$ or whatever?

Can we transfer funds to a US$ account in the USA and Canada?

Hi eserafini,

As per my post #40 above, I made an error in my original response to you, for which I apologize. Please see post #40 for the correct answer.

Thanks,

Rodney

I just saw your post 40 😞

Considering that eBay was stressing for ONLINE payment methods, I find this call in cc method in contradiction to eBay's original goal.

Rodney, will you be going to the eBay Radio Party in June (in Vegas)?

As usual, we ran a little long on this, but I want to thank everyone for the excellent questions we received here. Your participation is always appreciated, as are the thought and care you all bring to the Canadian eBay Community.

Many thanks ... don't forget, I'll have my regular board hour tomorrow at 11, and hope to see lots of you there.

Cheers,

Rodney

I read their terms on .ca and it's the same set up as Paypal. Canadian bank account in CAD required.

I trust that everyone is aware that these recent changes to the way eBay will allow payments to be made has nothing to do with ensuring safe, secure trade for either the seller or the buyer.
It was one thing when eBay banned the use of cash [legal currency], but it is another when eBay bans the use of money orders as a means of payment.
These changes are just a method by which eBay is forcing both buyers and sellers to use PayPal etc. [which is really only eBay] and thus impose additional charges. It is another money grab by eBay.
At one time I was listing over 400 items. Changes by eBay resulted in my reducing that number to less than 100. These new changes wil result in my listing even less [if any]. I have lost faith in eBay obviously.
eBay needs to learn a lesson from its major competitors who do not charge any listing fees and impose only the minimum of necessary restrictions on trade betwen members. They are growing whereas eBay is losing more and more of the market share.
