Being charged Duty fees on a GSP item

What am I supposed to do about this?
Made a purchase through the GSP because I needed an item that as only available from one seller. I had no choice 😞
They finally arrive today & Canada Post wants duty fees. If ebay wants to pretend that's what we're paying them for then we sure shouldn't be charged again when the item arrives.
The last time I bought something through the GSP they sent it to a different city & told me too bad cuz it said it was delivered so I don't expect them to be very helpful about this.
Anyone else have this happen to them? Any advice?

Re: Being charged Duty fees on a GSP item

Check to make sure the Seller did not mail directly to you instead of through the GSP center in Kentucky.

Just a quick thing to tack onto @ypdc_dennis' excellent post:

If your item was forwarded through the GSP, the address label should have a return address in Canada on it (most likely the Canada Post Gateway in Mississauga) and not the seller's US address.

Suggest you contact customer service as quoted in Dennis's post. If you get nowhere with that, perhaps have a go at filing a PayPal claim for PitneyBowes' portion of the sale. If nothing else, that should get someone's attention. Have the UPAA tracking number as evidence that the item didn't go through GSP channels, but be sure you check the tracking information first to ensure that's what happened:
