I ordered a micro USB connector. At the time of ordering there were a variety of lengths, colours, types and target devices - four selections. I carefully kept the order confirmation messages from eBay. When the item arrived it was the wrong type of USB plug. I check the saved confirmation and cannot find any specifics of my order, just the generic overall description.
I have contacted the seller and told him the wrong item has been sent. However, if he responds that I got what I ordered I have nothing to dispute that. Is this a flaw in the eBay process? I try to be scrupulously fair to the sellers but do not like having nothing to dispute them telling me I got what I ordered.
I tried attaching links here to the selling page and to the confirmation message but the links are too long to include here, each about the length of this message.

If you go to my eBay and look at your purchase history, is it more specific?
If you received a different item than what you ordered, you can open a return request in the resolution center...the link is at the bottom of the page. If your reason for the return is wrong item or something similar, the seller will have send a return shipping label. If the seller is out of the country they likely can't send you a label but can send the money for a label through PP (before you ship) if you let them know how much it will cost. Note that the method used should have delivery confirmation. Let us know if you have any questions or problems.

That's a very valid point. That is why I include a packslip, which is technically supposed to be a matching confirmation for what you are receiving. I have a few listings with variations. Because of the format(Number of characters) the description title prints in Shippo with the last part of the title displaying as (......). This should be the variation. When it does display properly(Shorter title), I highlight to confirm for myself that I have sent the correct item before sealing the box and include so the buyer can see the same. Alternative is to confirm in eBay and write it in manually. Something that should not be necessary if it displayed properly. A problem that was caused by each system using different formats....For everything. Another place it would be helpful for a full title could occur when seller uses either Bin, Lot #'s or quantity details as part of the title. Again that information would be MIA. Very important to high volume sellers to prevent accidents from happening.

No, no further details of the purchase are available anywhere. The issue is that for such purchases with multiple choices, as sure as the purchaser is of what was ordered, without a record showing to both the seller and the purchaser, there is no straightforward obvious resolution. It's hard to fathom that eBay does not record full details of purchases in their confirmation emails.

Thanks for your response. The items involved are only a few dollars but the seller's margins are small and postage from China is free, hence hardly worth a return. If I were the seller I would think the buyer is either mistaken of pulling a fast one. Clear records of purchases should be a given protecting both ends. Perhaps eBay will take stock and correct this. I would normally send such a company a line suggesting it but they are almost impossible to write to.
