Filing an INR with items paid for by Credit Card on account?

I purchased a dozen things from China and paid with the credit card tied to my account (not Paypal). The delivery estimate is July, which hasn't passed yet. But now the option to claim the item hasn't arrived has disappeared. Before yesterday I couldn't claim because the delivery time hasn't passed, and now I can't claim because it's more than 60 days (that seems to be when the transactions are getting archived).

If it's paid for by credit card what recourse do I have when July 25 comes and goes and there are no items?

I get that Canada Post is really slow right now and mail coming from China is being sent by sea, but if it's going to take a long time to get here and they're giving Chinese sellers a long time for their items to arrive in Canada, shouldn't eBay at least allow me some time AFTER predicted delivery date to file an INR?

Try this method and see if it works.

Look under your purchase history for 2020 and locate the item # of what didn't arrive.

Then go to http://resolutioncenter.ebay.ca and select that an item didn't arrive. In the search box enter the item # and click search.

These directions were provided by Tyler, the eBay rep. I have not tested these yet, but give that a try.

You may also be covered by the chargeback provisions of your credit card.

But go for eBay first, since a lost chargeback attempt will mean that eBay will not entertain a Dispute, while your card will probably be fine with a lost eBay Dispute.

If you are refunded by either eBay or your card and the items finally turn up, you can use Paypal's Send Money service to repay the refund.

But, in future look at the delivery date before paying.

EBay only keeps your transaction information complete for 90 days at best. If you are not using a payment processor like Paypal which has a 180 day window for disputes, you should be very aware of exactly what your credit card allows.

I know we all know and love PayPal 180 days for refund, but once eBay fully migrates to Managed Payment, Ops situation will become even more common as we won't be able to say file a dispute with PayPal because they will be history. At least on eBay.

Since buyers will still be able to pay with PayPal, I would think that there will still be buyer protection.  They protect buyers on other sites if the buyers uses PP, why wouldn’t they on eBay?

Hi @home-health-systems - chiming in to say that @retroman_studios gave some solid advice. The standard purchase history window defaults to a 60 day lookback. If it's been longer than that you can change that to a full 2020 date range and your items should still appear (example photos below).

Thanks!
