Hello, I'm interested in buying a collection of cards from Japan that would cost $1100 (CAD), and would be shipped through DHL. My question is how much would DHL charge me in their fees (Taxes, duties, brokerage fees) when they end up delivering it to me? I tried looking it up and couldn't find a concrete answer as to how they breakdown their charges. Thank you for any and all answers.

I doubt that anyone here will be able to give you a specific answer.
Taxes would be for gst/hst. For duty you would have to check Canada Customs to see what the duty is on that type of thing. I'm not sure how much DHL brokerage fees are...often couriers charge a percentage of the total. Some also charge a COD fee for pre-collecting the taxes and duty. If your seller uses an express service than there usually aren't brokerage or COD fees but I believe that they would still charge tax and duty.
Since the DHL site isn't much help, perhaps you could phone DHL?

FWIW- Japan is part of the TransPacific Partnership free trade treaty between a dozen Pacific Rim countries including Canada.
You can count on being charged sales tax on your imported purchase. The duty would be best checked here:

And most couriers have a service fee that starts around $25. But if DHL is using Canada Post for the last mile, which they sometimes do, that may only be $9.95
Best to enquire from DHL itself.
