Item is late but seems to be on its way... maybe?

Hi there,

Ordered an item from a seller in the US on March 26. The seller shipped the item on the same day, and it was supposed to be delivered on April 11 at the latest (I'm in the Toronto area). I decided to not ask for a refund just yet since the item is rare and pricy. That said, I'm becoming concerned. Can anyone tell me if I'm still getting it? And if so, how long might I have to wait?

The seller actually dropped off your purchase on the 27th.

It got to the USPS centre in Carol Stream IL on the 30th

That's Easter weekend, and while the transit points are open, assume they are shortstaffed until Tuesday the 2nd.

It was accepted by the eIS plant in Glendale Heights on April 1st.

It passed through customs there about the 10th.

It seems to be in Canada, but no Canadian carrier has been identified.

What window did eBay give you as estimated delivery?

Mark the LAST date on your calendar and stop watching tracking.

It won't move faster and you will just get upset.

Is April 11 the first or the last estimated date for delivery?

If the last estimated date for delivery has passed, first notify the seller as a courtesy.

The seller is not responsible for delivery after your purchase was accepted in Glendale Heights, so this is just for their future planning.

Then open a Not Received claim.

You will be refunded.

To the best of my knowledge, if the purchase arrives after your have been refunded, there is no process to give it back. It's yours.

Safe delivery is dependent on the seller's packing.

On time delivery is dependent on the last mile carrier. That seems to be the weak point.

Since the purchase was high value, I would not wait anymore to open the Claim.

Check the tracking number on parcelsapp.com to see if there is more current information.  You have  up to 30 days after April 11 to file an item it received claim so you might want to wait a bit before you file a claim.

April 11 was the last date for delivery. April 4 was the first. Worse yet, I got a tracking update just now and it looks like the item is still in the States lol. But at least it's moving, so that's good, right?? Don't think I'll be using eBay's International Shipping ever again. Sheesh.

Are you able to find out who’s handling the item after the “documentation and labelling” stage as well as once the item is in Canada, @terry19.2007? This information is usually available on Parcelsapp.

You could open the Item Not Received today.

It would be polite to let the seller know, but the seller is not responsible for this delay. They will not be penalized.

If the item is not delivered within a few days of the Claim, you will be refunded.

EIS is so new we are not sure what happens to the refunded shipments. Are they delivered to the refunded customer? Are they sold to liquidators?

In either case, the disappointed buyer has been refunded.

Sadly, no. ParcelApp seems to be behind eBay's tracking info, if anything 😕 Though it's now updated to this on eBay:

My worry would be that opening an item not received now might immediately stop the package. The buyer would get their money back but in most cases, they prefer to have the item that they ordered.  Waiting a little while longer might benefit them.

Not delivered parcels are sold to liquidation companies that only ship within the US.

Okay, fair enough, but there also should be a box either to the right of the tracking info (on a desktop/laptop) or below it (on a mobile and probably an iPad/tablet) entitled “Tracked with couriers.” There should be a list of the carriers involved in the shipment, and there might even be a box with other tracking numbers listed. Do you see anything like that, @terry19.2007?
