Letting Off Steam : Tyler, Can You Fix This?

Just had the worst buying experience.

Bid and won an item and asked seller if she'd ship a second item to me.

When I checked for her response I saw that she had cancelled the transaction giving the reason that there was something wrong with my shipping address.

There is nothing wrong with my address.  The seller uses the GSP and didn't understand that she only had to ship to the hub in the States.

I spent multiple emails explaining to her and she also called eBay.  In the end she told me just didn't "feel like shipping to the hub."  She has a lot of items all listed with GSP shipping.

I left her Negative FeedBack.  That FB was removed before the hour was up.

Just called eBay and was told that it shouldn't have been removed but she wouldn't/couldn't reinstate it.   Really?

That's the only NFB I've left in about 5 years and I buy a lot here.  I thought long and hard before doing it.

TYLER, can you put the FB back?

Whenever I've asked to have FB removed I've had to jump through hoops or given a flat out "NO" even when it should have been removed.

Tyler can you help?  That FB should be reinstated.

Re: Letting Off Steam : Tyler, Can You Fix This?

When I called eBay about this situation they strongly advised me to report the seller and guaranteed that they'd take some action.

However, when I just tried to do that there is no place to report the seller.

There is a button beside the Shipping and Payments link which reads "report item," but when you push it the drop down menu doesn't work.

I couldn't find anywhere to report a seller.

Has anyone ever figured out how to report a seller (or item)?  They made is sound so simple:  NOT.

Go to the site map and at the bottom under help is a link that says A-Z index. At the bottom of the page is a "report an issue with a seller" link. If you follow that rabbit hole, you should end up at a place where you can report a seller, good luck.

All of us who have been around for a while know how hard it has been to get negative FB taken off even when we could prove that we did not deserve it.

We also know how damaging it can be to the seller, because it has invariably happened to us. The last thing most sellers want to do is put a black mark beside anyone, and it almost seems to pain those who do.

We normally think long and hard, doing the best we can to avoid, even giving the seller(s) a pass, before giving out a negative.

Over the years we will sell items that we can't find, or make a mistake on the shipping cost, but we learn from them, and hope to not make the same one twice.

Canadian sellers only wish we had a GSP that we could use to ship worldwide, as the shipping part of the business is the most critical part due to the high cost involved. We also know that treating all customers professionally and with curtesy, is the best "best practices" routine.

@sylviebee, you can also see if the button on this page from the .com site works for you:

Sorry to be a bit late to the party, but my understanding is that sellers using the GSP are shielded from negative feedback related to the program.  An eBay lackey may have applied that directive a bit too rigorously when they realized that the seller was using (or at least enrolled in) the program.
