There really needs to be more monitoring of the false ads and Insane shipping costs

One single mason jar lid with a hole in it, 22,00 for shipping?   I repeat, One single metal mason jar lid with a hole in it. 22.00 from the U.S to Canada
8 oz of Enzyme spray cleaner 72.00 shipping, U.S to Canada. It's made in Canada ironically enough.
One Australian seller had everything listed at 142 shipping,  they weren't shipping couches, just enamel kettles.
I've also noticed many, many "Free International Shipping" subtitles that are outright lies.
Free often costs ends up being an over the top charge.

It makes Ebay look asinine that these are not monitored, and I hate searching now because the prices change so frequently once you click on the item. '

There is overcharging and then there is the utterly ridiculous and the utterly ridiculous is commonplace.

That one is an ebay supplied display stupidity.  All it really means that there is free shipping by the Seller to at least one country outside the USA.  The Seller has no control over that, it is eBay unnecessarily oversimplifying.

Sellers choose the shipping service and any handling charges.

Then there is the GSP, which is not technically shipping but Canadian duty (minimal in most cases) and SALES TAX(up to 15%) on any item selling for over $20Cdn.($15USD)

The new NAFTA duty-free limit of $150Cdn has not yet been accepted by either Parliament or Congress. When it does, we will still be paying sales tax on items over $40Cdn.

Shipping is based on weight and dimensions as well as destination, not on monetary value.

Here is the USPS rate card for international shipping.

https://postcalc.usps.com/?country=10440

That 8oz bottle of cleaner would cost from $10- $64.50 USD to ship from California to BC. by USPS depending on the service used. All are tracked.

Soounds like your seller was using Priority Medium Box for that.

Tracked international shipping is not cheap.

Some seller will say that they ship internationally, which gives them a boost in Search.

Then they purposely put shipping high enough that they never have to deal with international sales.

Others are using the expensive Priority service pushed by USPS rather than the (tracked) First Class International Parcel service which carries up to four pounds for a quarter of the price.

Why would any one be selling a jar lid with a hole? Is it 'haunted'?
