ok can someone help.. I purchased a spoiler for my car. cost $149 US.. was charged $5000 US for shipping . The part is under a pound in weight. I thought at first was Fraud.. found Out that the seller has some normal shipping cost and some thousands of dollar cost.. for shipping.. very odd.. I am sure they know what they are doing.. But Ebay won't help.. my Visa card won't help as they claim I made the purchase.. Everytime I contact ebay on line I get timed out .. like they are ignoring my problem.. this is $7000 canadian dollars.. I"m fuming.. any assistance would be apreciated.. I will out the seller once I know I won't be sued.. or something like that.. Totally nuts.. Thanks for reading my post

Has it been shipped? Has it been delivered?
If it is delivered, you have 30 days to file a Not As Described dispute.
As most sellers complain, eBay doesn't look too closely at those. Which would be helpful for you in this case.
Don't go into detail about what exactly is not as described.
Normally I would not encourage this, but it sounds like a real scam and you have to fight back with whatever you can.
Uh-oh- did you file a chargeback with your card?
You may not be able to start the eBay dispute.
The order of "appeals" is eBay->failed?-> Paypal-> failed?-> charge card.
Because PP will not consider a Dispute if there has been a credit card chargeback. And eBay will not consider a Dispute if there has been a chargeback or a failed PP dispute.
The reason is to prevent double dipping.

BTW -- did you contact the Seller?
If the cost was a typo ($70.00 but the decimal was missed) you might get an apology and a swift partial refund.

I wish.. I have been to the seller .. they are not helping.. to my credit card.. to my bank and they called my credit card company.. Since I ordered it they say not fraud.. shipping back would be nice but they won't refund the shipping .. spoke with ebay at least 4 times.. nothing they can do.. went to log a complaint and was disconnected as a time out .. 1 minute after the converstion started. twice.. this is just BS.. I asked for the seller address.. they won't give it.. all I know is it is in the USA..

How did you find this out? Right now, when I try piecing your story together, it sounds as though the shipping cost was right on the listing and you chose to buy it anyway without consulting with the seller first.

Whatever else happens, do NOT refuse the package when it arrives.
That would make it Undeliverable, and the seller would not have to refund a penny.

I think you are correct, the information sounds as if it was all right in the listing as were the shipping costs. And, the buyer went ahead and purchased the item anyway without asking questions beforehand.
Also, why did they pay for the item, did they not see the shipping costs on the invoice before paying? They could have simply pulled out and not paid and it would have been canceled.
Something is missing from this tale...

Unfortunately, I suspect the package arrived some time ago as the seller left glowing feedback for the OP that's over 90 days old.
Judging by the seller's feedback record, they don't handle customer service issues particularly well. As the OP observes, some of their items have somewhat reasonable shipping costs listed and the rest of them have insane shipping costs but in all cases USPS Priority International is the stated shipping method. As shipping costs are even higher for countries outside of Canada (US$8000 versus US$5000) I'm going to be charitable and suggest that there's some sort of error that's afoot here rather than this being a plot to discourage international sales. The seller's unwillingness to work with the buyer on this is perplexing, though, but then, see my earlier note about feedback comments on their customer service in the event of an issue.
It's a bit unfortunate that the seller isn't getting charged FVF on their international shipping charges. They'd likely fix what's going on with their shipping charges pretty quickly once they realized that their FVF were far more than the selling price of the item.

I don't understand. If you saw $5000 shipping, why did you buy? If you missed it in the listing and just hit BIN, why did you pay? I have to be missing something here. What am I not getting?
We already assumed that fact a few posts ago...

But, I will add that the OPer has yet to reply to his post, probably because the post was more of a rant after the facts, which we seem to be missing...
