I am a buyer in Canada and the item I wish to bid on is sold by a seller also in Canada. However, when I try to bid, the message. The Shipping message says "May not ship to Canada."  When I try to bid the message

"Unfortunately, this seller will not ship this item to .. Canada. Here is what you can do:
Update your shipping address and try again."

What is happening here?

The seller is (I assume) listing on ebay.com (in US dollars) and does not have shipping set up for Canada, just for the USA.

You can contact the seller and ask them if they are willing to ship to your location.

I am in Canada and depending on the item, I have it set up that I don't sometimes don't ship within Canada.  I sell CD's, Books and DVD's and in the US I can ship by media mail, in Canada that same item ships for about 2X or more in postage than for the US.

Some sellers decide for their buyers that the buyer will not pay the greater cost for shipping within our country and refuse tosell domestically.

The same applies to shipping internationally.

They don't realize that one reason the buyer is shopping online is that the item is not available in their own location.

If the item is something mass produced, it is also possible that the seller is dropshipping and it is their supplier which will not ship to Canada.

This is less likely with used and collectible goods.

Dropshippers have dozens of resellers peddling their stuff, so use Search to look for similar pictures, since the pictures( and titles and descriptions and packaging and shipping) are provided by the supplier.  You may find one who does sell to Canada.
