Life is too short to be too stubborn. You never know where life is going to take you tomorrow, today, a minute from now. I have to side with hubby on this one...call him. 😉

(((((Nellie)))))) How disappointing for you indeed! A lot of young people are like that today, especially the boys for some reason. They're so wrapped up in themselves & their needs that they forget that their parents have needs & desires of their own and worry about them. He's so used to your love & support that maybe he's started taking it a bit for granted. I don't blame you for not wanting to call him -- it's really up to him to get in touch with you. Not very many young people are blessed with as much financial support as you are providing him. Hopefully, he will realize that after he starts to make new friends at school.

I hope he does call you soon though -- he's probably just got a lot going on right now (although that's really no excusive, a phone call only takes a few minutes).

Nellie, it could be a sign of a well raised young man. He is independent,out there on his own with an exciting world ahead of him. Mom and dad did a great job. He really does need to pick up that phone and call Mom though. 😉 I agree with Hubs and tob, call him so you can reast easy.

((((Nellie)))) been there. The only comfort I can offer, is that men tend to act when they think action is necessary. He isn't worried, and would probably be surprised to find out you may be--he probably doesn't think it necessary to call. As for some gratitude--the number of times I have thought, "Sharper than a serpent's tooth" but if you wait long enough, it does come.

I wouldn't wait, I would call, but being me, would add, "it sure would have been nice if you called me. I have been worried."

It's back to Birdieville for me tomorrow *sob*.

It seems each time I visit, I end up leaving more of 'myself' here every time I go home.

LOL!! Thanks for all your comments. It's so wonderful to see such variations in opinion. Really - I'm not worried - I believe in 'no news is good news'. I'm just ticked that I told him to call when he got there and he hasn't. Guess he really is my son after all. I'm terrible at calling home too when I travel elsewhere & I'm over 50. Well, we did call - but no answer. So I put in a contact through Facebook - if that doesn't get his attention - well - at least now I know Facebook better!!! WHY? did I even get started on that - I can see a bit now where it could be addicting - YIKES!!!

Anyway, I found this on sonny's facebook page and I thought it would be a nice thing to share with you all today.

Hi Christine--I agree with you. Other than he didn't phone his mother, there isn't much wrong with a man who would post that prayer.

Nellie, amazing prayer, and I suspect--amazing son.

Nikki - Yup! :^O he's been restored to his place of honor as amazing son!! - now that he has called home. Phone rings. . .'sorry, mommy!' . . . so Facebook works. He's got a wicked line-up of courses - political science, Intro to economics, sociology, European History, multi-cultural education & officiating - just had so much reading & homework to do and 30 guys showed up for soccer workouts & coach is treating him as ad hoc captain, et cetera, et cetera. Good enough excuses - doesn't take much to make me happy! He really is a good kid - just forgets to call home - never had much, if any, trouble with him. Now that I know Facebook works. . .hmmmm.

Have a great weekend everyone. I have a bunch of business stuff to do and I need to pack!!

Wow Nellie, that sounds like a heavy load for your son--no wonder he had trouble finding time to phone.

Home from taking DGS home--he is so excited, he took 4 pictures of our electrical outlets and he want his mother to print them out for us. He is just sure we will want to frame them.
